Detention: Yet another immigration policy in need of reform
A disturbing April 13 Star Tribune story recounted how an 18-year-old high school student being held in Sherburne County jail under federal immigration rules was repeatedly sexually assaulted by his cellmate - a registered sex offender.

to avoid being in this scenario, one only needs to make sure they carry with them proper ID. no more. no less.
if you don't have proper ID, then, that means you are not a citizen of the usa...expect to be treated badly.
what's so hard to understand here?
no need to change anything about our current immigration laws. they just need to be enforced.
in every country I ever traveled to, I was required to be responsible and show ID whenever asked for it. even in mexico.
absolutely no need for reform.

There does not need to be reform on anything, we have laws.dont come illegaly .you will not be put in a cell.then you wont be raped.so easy to understand.

The sad fact is that criminals prey on other criminals in prison. While I do not condone such actions I find that not comitting crimes prevents being a victim in prison just as staying out of the ocean prevents being a victim of shark attack.
