Bush supporters where are you now?

Your empire is crumpling before it ever begin.

Republicons have wasted years of American lives

and homes for their own agenda and now have left

a ruin for the Democrats to try and prop up.

Looks like the Republicons will get their wish and

be back in office four years from now. Then they

will ruin America again by taking what Democrats

have done to help the country out and use it for

themselves.

Their plan is working!!! But hopefully folks will

see through this and keep them out for good!!!

At the rate we are losing jobs, the official unemployment rate will exceed 20% by May 1, 2010.

By the middle of next year, 10% unemployment will look good.

Also bet that they’ll use this as a reason to pass Socialized Medicine.

"Those poor, poor souls with no jobs. We simply MUST give them health care."

The unemployment rate is further proof that we can NOT AFFORD SOCIALIZED MEDICINE.

They hide it under the ponderous link Table A-12. Alternative measures of labor underutilization

http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t12.ht...

U.S. employers cut a deeper-than-expected 190,000 jobs in October, government data showed on Friday, driving the unemployment rate to 10.2 percent, the highest in 26-1/2 years.

The Labor Department said the unemployment rate was the highest since April 1983. It revised job losses for August and September to show 91,000 fewer jobs lost than previously reported.

Analysts polled by Reuters had expected payrolls to drop by 175,000 and the jobless rate to edge up to 9.9 percent from 9.8 percent in September.

The labor market is being watched for signs whether the economic recovery that started in the third quarter can be sustained without government support. The economy grew at a 3.5 percent annualized rate in the July-September period, probably ending the most painful U.S. recession in 70 years.

Payrolls have declined for 22 consecutive months now, throwing 7.3 million people out of work since December 2007, when the recession started.

I can't even comment on this story on the Censorship Tribune's site. I hope the ones getting the ax are those who decide to not allow comments on "sensitive stories" such as former big advertiser Denny Hecker (plus Petters, Pohlad, etc.) and those who are deleting comments !!

I can't tell if Har Har is trolling or really that foolish. I hate that newspapers are having to cutback. Without an adequate number of professional reporters, much that should be news will never see the light of day. There will always be plenty of live breaking news of the latest crime scene or traffic accident, but serious coverage of public affairs, particularly on a local level, is dying.
I subscribe to my hometown paper and like reading news online. We need a system of micro payments or monthly electronic subscriptions so people pay for what they read. And those that don't think it is worth it can get their news from talk radio and blogs.
Here's the news from the Strib for the next 50 years: there was a shooting over Norf. Schools are in crisis, vote yes for kids on the levy. Fund mass transit. Vote DFL. Worship Green initiatives and diversity. Be gay.
It's the same liberal crap as the last 50 years. They don't investigate government, they shill for its growth.

Could it be the economy is on a slippery slope to a depression?

Improvements by Government stimulas initiatives like Clunkers cause very short improvements and then economic activity slides even further into the depression abyss.

Obama's stimulas is sucking future demand out of the markets causing a quicker slide instead of allowing the economy to naturally recover at a sustainable rate.

Obama's complete lack of finness may trigger a free fall into a DEEP depression!

I for one am very tired of hearing how wonderfull the economy is doing from the Government spin idiots!!

The Pioneer Press recently sent a letter out to its Newspaper carriers about them taking paycuts from there monthly pay. Each carrier will take a hit between 40.00 to 80.00 a month but this also depends on how big the carrier's routes are them it would be more. The carriers take sacrifices on a daily basis to assure that customers get the paper like wear and tear on a vehicle, carriers pay for rubber bands, daily and sunday bags and these are supplies that carriers SHOULD NOT have to pay for but that do. I know that my post don;t mean much hear but as a FORMER CARRIER, customers as well as some newspaper companies have no idea what carriers go thru to deliver the newspaper on adaily basis.

I grew up with the StarTrib and was a long time subscriber. But like many I got sick and tired of their left wing bias. As their financial situation worsened (partially due to this left wing arrogance, partially due to changing technology) the paper got thinner and less informative. And they outright refuse to alter their left wing slant, so I dropped it a year ago and haven't missed it. I can get most of their news on their website and this one for local info. The StarTrib blew it, and they just keep digging the hole deeper. They do not listen to their customers very well.
