Bill Doak ,(Willie to those who've known him a long time) is quite a character .
Smart , funny , an all around nice guy .

I wish him luck , he's got big stones taking over The Gazette in these times .

The Gazette was always a good paper with the local news, I wish Mr Doak the best of luck and I hope everyone will support him.

You go Mr. Doak! If anyone can pull this off it's you. His story cuts to the importance of having a local paper and an editor who genuinely cares about the town that paper covers. Best of luck!

Good for you Bill, the Gazette IS East Hartford !! One of the first things I thought of was how upset Ray Mckenna would be if the paper no longer existed.

I think it has to be clear the headline of this story ""East Hartford Weekly Newspaper Back In Business" is NOT correct. The East Hartford Gazette, owned by Journal Register Company is GONE and the former Editor of that paper has started a NEW paper with a similar name. To say the East Hartford Gazette is back is not correct, that paper was closed down. I do, however, wish Mr. Doak great luck with his NEW weekly paper meant to fill the void. This is not the old paper reborn, it's a new publication.

I hope to read this new publication soon. I, nor any of my East Hartford neighbors, have received the old Gazette for over a year now. Maybe the delivery system will change for the good?
