Yeap, flows down the drain. No new products, layoffs, and failing to make AOP, there will be an exodus in 1/08 (people will get their vacation time). Don't kid yourself Rochester this is another recipe for failure.

Carestream is flowing alright. Just laid off 80 people in their R&D department. Guess they aren't planning on needing anything new to sell in the future. It seems they are flowing in a circular motion down the toilet. Get ready for more layoff announcements and the eventual dismemberment. It has begun! The Canadians just realized what little they got for their $Billion or so.

Lots of layoffs announced yesterday. Rumors to the effect of "not enough feet on the street" on the salesforce. Seems to be across the board in departments. Lots of admin people, service, sales. If they really think that is their problem then this outfit won't last much longer. It seems that the PACS group is calling most of the shots. Makes sense. The group that shows no profit or any chance of profit making the strategic decisions. Still haven't lost that Kodak keene sense of irrational thought in dreamland.

Is PracticeWorks going to be laying off reps also? L Carillo wrote: Lots of layoffs announced yesterday. Rumors to the effect of "not enough feet on the street" on the salesforce. It is primarily the core Kodak "digital" businesses that have failed to perform. Most acquired businesses were profitable until they became "Kodasized" and the creativity was milked out of them. As is well known, Kodak has never been able to create anything of value in the digital arena. They are a "me-too" company in everything except film. Hence their demise.

Rumor is still more to come in Roch. My area was hit slightly. Think more the next time. Done by project. Contractors may stay while full timers go. Moral @ buckets bottom.
