TONY, The traditional units are on their way out. Film has been dying for awhile, but the end, has started. This company is poorly managed, and if the sale of the Health imaging group falls through. They are in serious trouble...... Yet, after 8 consecutive losses, the ceo (zorro) has given himself and his kronies nice fat bonuses for doing such a good job. Way to go American government, run by corporations to feed the bueracracy......

Well said, but the CEO is a lot more "Zero" than "Zorro" when it comes to taking care of employee's needs. |

HAVING SAID THAT: If anyone out of the 50 - 60,000 ex Kodak workers has the courage to come forward and speak your mind to the world, in my documentary, please email me at: petehelfrich2004@yahoo.com http://www.wroctv.com/content/fulltext/... ... Pete Helfrich only worked at Kodak for 5 years, but from the time he began as a janitor in 1996 he was skeptical about the future of the company. It is with a healthy dose of skepticism that he's now working on a documentary about the misfortunes of Kodak and its workers who've been laid off by the tens of thousands in the last decade. It was in the 19th century when George Eastman experimented with film at a kitchen table. Ironically, in the 21st century, Helfrich also labors at a kitchen table on his documentary. He's using a Cannon Camera and Fuji film to produce it,...facts for which he makes no apologies. " I think a lot of people in Rochester are fed up and that's their way of saying,'hey, I don't approve of the tactics and the direction of the company'." Helfrich admits a key element of his documentary has failed to develop. He seeks to speak with members of Kodak's Rochester based work force (which once numbered above 60,000 but which has dwindled to roughly 12,000). He claims several are reluctant to speak with him "on the record" because they fear reprisals. To watch our story about "Takling Layoffs Further" click on the video icon. Pete, I led an unsuccessful effort to get the 8000+ employees, sold out by Perez and his ilk in the sale of Health Group to Onex, to mount an organized campaign to fight against the sale and the blatant abuse of the employees by management. Some of my efforts included radio and newspaper interviews and trying to establish an email forum for Kodak employees outside of the Kodak system.
I would be happy to share information with you regarding that struggle. Thanks, and I wish you well in your efforts to shed some light on the mismanagement of Kodak by Perez and company. |

Is Onex/Carestream a public company? How will a person find out how the health group is doing on their sales results?

that guy should have been fired on the spot and sued |

Any bets on how long it takes onex to slice and dice carestream? Things will likely clarify by summers end as onex will have had a true taste for the business by then.

Slice and dice, would not be surprised if something happens before year end
Moose please be more specific, the rumors are a lot, and we supposed you know something.

Hard to tell for sure when exactly layoffs will hit. Carestream is only giving 2 weeks notice (though there are other signs). Kodak used to give much more advanced notice (usually at least a few months). There is a "workforce realignment" (wow, what will the euphemism machine come up with next!) program that is supposed to continue into 1st half next year so expect layoffs at least through that period.

the way things are going carestream/kodak will not be around much longer
at least not in the USA.. I know I'am not buying anything from kodak I will not support a company that treats employees like dirt I just hope current employee's can find other jobs if there is some kind of lay off I have never been happier than when I left kodak a few years ago |

Very loud rumors about massive layoffs after first of the year.
Onex finally got a good look at the books!!! |
And I'm sure that the moral of the employees now working for Onex/CareLessStream, that were sold out by Kodak, is at an all time high!
I have heard that it is worse now than ever |

Jan. layoffs to the tune of at least 7% in Roch NY manufacturing and development (this is what I've heard in my area). The CR/DR business will likely implode (rate unknown). No significant products on the books long term. Onex will milk the profitable film and old line portions of the health business. More work to china. Incredible dearth of radiographic knowledge. The best hope is to get laid off before the old Kodak separation benefits are dropped (supposedly good until May 09 but I bet Onex will try to cut them before that.
