In China’s General Strategic Plan on Green Printing, 2014 will be key to promoting the implementation of this type of printing nationwide. By the end of next year, a basic system will have been established and the standards for green printing greatly improved through the elimination of outdated techniques and processes.
Green printing will be used to produce all kinds of printed products. Further, the number of companies that use it is set to expand rapidly. As is market demand for it – meaning that green printing will become common practice among printing companies and widely adopted by broader society. This will give this type of printing a larger space in which to develop.
A tour will run between August and October to inform all the stakeholders in this growing trend. The National Green Printing Tour will be run by the China Printing Technology Association, the Environmental Department Center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and China Printing Press. Lecturers in the tour will be experts from the printing and environment protection industries, whose companies excel in producing cutting edge technologies for green printing.
The tour will cover major hot topics, including macro policy, industry trends, the industrial economy, green printing, corporate management, authentication of green printing and more. The lectures will address actual needs of companies and solve problems encountered in implementing green printing. The activity will feature a training session and answer key concerns raised, so as to spur the spread of green printing nationwide.
The Green Printing National Tour will have five stops in key packaging and printing hubs spread across Guangdong, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Gansu and Zhejiang provinces. The Guangdong lecture will be held during SinoFoldingCarton 2013. As this province is key to China’s packaging industry, this lecture will thoroughly explore developments in green packaging.
Reed will also promote the use of green, energy saving technologies and encourage companies to eliminate equipment that is high in energy consumption and low in efficiency.
At the forum, industry leaders and experts will interact with on-site attendees who can address their problems and seek solutions. The forum will also allow businesses to make suggestions to government and get answers to questions about securing accreditation as a green printing business.
Many important figures will present at the forum, including Cai Suihong, former Deputy Director, Printing Distribution Department, China’s General Administration of Press and Publications; Zhang Shuangru, Deputy Interim Director, China Printing Technology Association; Qu Desen, Deputy Director and Secretary, China Printing Technology Association; Chen Yingxin, Deputy Secretary, China Printing Technology Association; Gong Renchou, Director, Flexographic Printing Branch, China Printing Technology Association; Zheng Jiangli, Deputy Director, China Environmental United Certification Center’s Technical Committee; Li Jiang, General Manager, Beijing Huari New Environmental Technology Development Company and Cai Shangpei, Head of New Standards Team, Verification Department, China Environmental United Certification Center.
Green printing and packaging is the future of China’s printing industry – hence the drive to promote its sustainable development. The National Green Printing Tour will focus on promoting green upgrades and strengthening the environmentally sustainable development of companies. The activity will be a joint effort among regional government, industry associations, exhibition organizers, industrial zones and leading companies in the folding carton trade.
Reed Exhibitions, organizers of the Forum, have long promoted green packaging. As Asia-Pacific’s only folding carton post-press industry event, SinoFoldingCarton 2013 will be billed as a green show that provides great opportunities for packaging and printing companies to upgrade to green practices.
