Recently, the SinoFoldingCarton 2013 Project Team met with Tan Junqiao, Senior Consultant at the Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of China and Executive Vice Chairman of the China Trade Association for Anti-Counterfeiting’s Label Printing Branch. Following the meeting, the two parties agreed to work together to host the Electronic Drug Monitoring Code Forum at SinoFoldingCarton 2013, an event hosted by Reed Exhibitions. SinoFoldingCarton is Asia-Pacific’s leading business platform for post-print manufacturing equipment and consumables from the folding carton industry.

This year, the exhibition will feature a dedicated zone for electronic monitoring codes, to highlight the latest code spraying equipment and technologies used on drug packaging. SinoFoldingCarton 2013 will help established suppliers of code spraying equipment, technologies and colored boxes to get a firm foothold in the drug packaging industry. It will also offer potential new entrants to the industry a means of clearly understanding this market. The zone will span 2,000 sqm and it is expected to welcome over 500 drug packaging enterprises. All local suppliers of electronic monitoring code equipment will be on-site, creating the optimum conditions for a high value Forum.

The implementing of electronic drug monitoring codes is important for the food and drug checking system, as it allows administrators to continuously innovate monitoring methods. It is beneficial to establish a comprehensive drug tracking system to prevent counterfeit and non-approved drugs from seeping into mainstream distribution channels. To be truly effective, the system needs to be implemented across production, distribution and consumption.

SinoFoldingCarton 2013 will host an electronic monitoring code zone, in response to the State Food & Drug Administration’s policies and to market demand. With the support of the China Printing Equipment Industries Association, Reed Exhibitions, the organizers of SinoFoldingCarton, will also hold the 2013 Electronic Drug Monitoring Code Forum. The forum will serve two purposes: it will promote quality monitoring and safety management of food and drugs in China; and it will provide a highly efficient trade, information and communication platform for suppliers of pharmaceutical monitoring code equipment and for pharmaceutical packaging enterprises.

At the invitation of Mr. Tan, Yao Feng, CEO of CITIC Inspection Information Technology, will report on the latest electronic monitoring code policies during the Forum. He will also talk about future development trends. Experts from Founder and Kodak, two mega businesses in the printing industry, will join the symposium to introduce the latest technologies and production solutions. Also on-site will be leaders of pharmaceutical enterprises to share their experiences in production and application of electronic monitoring codes and present illustrative case studies. Leeds Exhibition Group will use this occasion to help visitors gather information on electronic drug code monitoring and boost the value of their participation in the Forum.
