“We're not talking about kicking the tires or changing the oil”

Lawmakers are worrying about repairs by foreign workers on airplanes??????? That's funny! With the report card in on the miserable condition the Congress has led american families into - the congress should be delighted to have foreign workers repairing their planes. Many american workers are at the brink of "postal" while foreign workers have no dog in this hunt!!!

hmm this is ironic; U.S., the great superpower that did/built everithing is isnow reduced to the role of a buyer of services from the cheapest bidders.

People in the upper casses in the finantial busines really did a numeber on the politicians in wash DC and on the "moronic" american public.

To be a great nation you NEED to build most of it if not at least 50%+ of what sell and consume in this land and that includes food.

Salvador is a breeding ground for the MS13 gang bangers that infest a lot big cities in the US... and now the are fixing planes, lol; who's checking that the repairs are legit? We in the US have had some hanky panky bizz going on on this subject, what is to prevent that a cheaper 3rd world country would do any better of a job???

Also no much positive to say about Salvadorians except they do make some great pupusas...

Well, you know people fly in Airbus Aircraft that are not made here, and no one seems to care about hiring an illegal alien housekeeper or getting their car cleaned by an illegal alien. Imagine that.

You’re confusing 2 issues

Airbus are made in Europe - France and Germany more to the point-
These two countries regardless of political or cultural perception are the superpowers of Europe; probably these two countries do produce (actually make it there) more stuff for their own consumption as well for exports.

BMW’ are made –the majority- in Germany a country that has a highest standard of living that the US.

France is home to a lot luxury brand that pseudo upper-class American clamor for it (Hermes, Louis Vuiton etc..).

So comparing these two powerhouses with El Salvador – no disrespect- but what they have to offer!!!

And cleaning services are just that…nobody’s life is going to be at risk because your housekeeper forgot to vacuum the carpet or didn’t clean the kitchen sink!!

But when checker airplanes a screw no tighten to the proper tolerances or the use of substandard parts (read used passed for new) can be a disaster waiting to happen.
