U.S. Immigration Agency Will Lose Millions Because It Can't Process Visas Fast Enough

There are 23 comments on the Truthdig story from Apr 8, 2017, titled U.S. Immigration Agency Will Lose Millions Because It Can't Process Visas Fast Enough. In it, Truthdig reports that:

Lost amid the uproar over the Trump administration's crackdown on undocumented immigrants is a change coming to the legal immigration system that's expected to be costly for both U.S. companies and the government itself. Each year at about this time, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services receives a tidal wave of applications for H-1B visas, the ones for college-educated workers.

So shut down all tourism?

What could possibly go wrong with getting rid of all those jobs?

by all means shutdown birth tourism. all needs to be shut down until the entry exit system is in place so we know they leave when they are supposed to. we have far too many who come here with no intentions of leaving.

Why are companies bringing in foreign workers when so many college educated native born Americans can't find jobs?

Oh, never mind. The foreigners work for a third as much money than Americans.

they are also committing visa fraud when they displace American workers, discriminates against Americans. every year folks graduate for a certain field only to end up well below their field of study do to the nonsense. even stem cell has plenty of citizens willing and able yet are turned away.

a reporter once called them on the claim of engineer shortage. look around millions still out of work, highly trained and skilled American citizens taking jobs in fastfood and other things all do to unneeded visa workers and companies that discriminate against citizens.

Can you replace the forfeited revenues?

And who is left to fill vacant hospitality jobs that American kids aren't attracted too?

There aren't millions of engineers out of work in America

That's Fake News

And no engineer amply qualified is taking a job in fast food

Those are alternative facts you could never support

even our kids get shafted out of jobs that used to be done by our youth. it is time to start jailing employers who refuse to hire citizens to hire imports. also it is time these employers foot all the costs of their cheap labor, meaning none they import should get anything from social services, the employer wants them they should fully fund them. what good is it to the country when others have to supplement the wages of cheap imported labor labor

Wrong. I know several telecommunications engineers who were let go when their employers outsourced their engineering. Engineering contractors from India now do the work. The Americans were forced to take whatever jobs that they could get. Most of them minimum wage.

You are the one spreading fake news. Here is the truth about it:

It is the same in every supposedly high demand field. Truth is the corporations just bring in foreigners to depress American wages.

Visa recipients are not tourists. They come for work or school purposes and do not pay fica taxes. A tourist is someone visiting for a short period of time on vacation. As to job placement, how about the large percentage of welfare recipients. I'm sure they can make beds and clean bathrooms.

Is a fee charged when applying for a visa? It costs about $140 for a one day pass for Disney. Who pays the processing fees?

Right, our economy doesn't need that $221 billion in tourism money

after we have the entry exit program up and running their will be no problems. we have too many who fraud those visas and try to stay and that in no way helps the country and is illegal.

stopping the frauds will not effect tourism,it will stop the dirty who never planned on leaving.

I doubt Kentucky is an attractive location for vibrant young college graduates.

I could see a foreigner being attracted to Kentucky it gets their foot on the ground in America

Anything legal papers permitting entry into the United States requires fees.

I haven't any idea about welfare recipients. But I know finding employees for menial paying jobs is difficult. Although WalMart seems to be well staffed.
