I be getting it when it comes out in Australia. Can't wait because it sounds cool from what I heard in the promotions.

Independent third-party content provider means The Jackson estate and Sony's laughable public relations campaigns working overtime. The sticky sweet Michael Jackson brag fest is a dead giveaway. I wouldn't know how well the CD is going to do but I am definitely not going to buy anything by the dead clown. Sony is obviously desparate.

I am getting it because I want to not because Sony is making me. I heard some MJ music in the supermarket the other day and it made the whole place have an uplifting atmosphere. I bet a lot of people made extra purchases.

You are getting it because you are a f'loon and its in your f'loon programming to purchase his stupid music. It may have made the supermarket uplifting, but only for you. I'm sure no one else really cared and tuned out Wacko's music in their heads. I guess buying extra stuff because Wacko was on the radio just makes you a sucker...

I am getting it because the sound will be better. Most MJ's has an uplifting quality with his unique stamp on it. Non fans will like it.

Of course you are going to rush out to buy Michael Jackson's "Xscape" That does not surprise me. Playing Michael Jackson in a supermarket would not make me purchase more more food items. I wouldn't know about what most people think down under but Wacko is definitely not uplifting for everyone. I perfer it quiet or the music buried softly in the background when my wife and I shop. Too much noise is distracting and annoying. I've changed a lot in my older years. I do not like music forced upon me.

I've have not heard Wacko played out anywhere in quite some time but if I do happen to hear the clown, I just ignore it as always. If I remember correctly, they played "Human Nature" in Las Vegas as we were entering the showroom to see Criss Angel.

The blurb on the bottom of the article is a lie .mj has never sold a billion records ! Notice all the songs are duets ? To cash in on the other singers fame .

Speaking as someone who was part of that fan machine for about 10 years really (I mean looking back, yes he was a part of my childhood but I guess I wasn't as into him as I was to Prince so I was fooling myself thinking I was such a fan, I did the backslide and wore one glove sometimes, but yeah, it was really OLD Mike), I think sales wise it would be a decent success the first week, but nothing too blockbuster.

For starters, they put the charted version of Love Never Felt So Good on the wrong section, also, why are they releasing the album on the 13th when the Billboard awards was on the 18th? You'd think if they were really pushing for 200K the first week, they'd have release it after the Billboard awards? This whole releasing albums every Tuesday is confusing to me. Also, the tracks may sound like good R&B numbers but it's not really what you would consider sellable. Then again they felt the need to "contemporize" everything and in the process could alienate even more fans.

I'm gonna check HITS next week to see what they're predicting as a sales opener. The Justin duet could become a decent top 15 hit though. But this is a very strange way of promoting an album.

Hmm, least two tracks didn't have Jackson's penmanship on them:

Chicago was written by Cory Rooney
Slave to the Rhythm was written by Babyface and L.A. Reid (the original had the La Face sound)

And other songs Jackson was just the co-writer:
Love Never Felt So Good (Paul Anka)
A Place with No Name (Dr. Freeze and Dewey Bunnell who wrote the original A Horse with No Name)
Blue Gangsta (Dr. Freeze)
Xscape (Rodney Jerkins, LaShawn Daniels, Fred Jerkins III)

Loving You and Do You Know were the only tracks Jackson was listed as the song's sole writer.

Every single track of EP's songs was not written by him. I can't see what the big deal is a MJ not having written every song he sang.

Why did I bring this up? Because Wikipedia's article on Xscape has about every song with just Jackson's name on the songs lol plus it's informative and it comes from an Epic-associated post.

This will possibly be a modest top 20 hit internationally. It was 24 on UK Midweeks this week. It's performing better than Hold My Hand with Akon but that's not saying much, I guess.
