Don't believe he is coming to LAX. He will not be on that flight. The ticket is phony. Same thing happened to me. The airline had no information about him. Stay away from this one. He is a scammer.

Hi! I am new on match.com . Read your posts about scam. I also have grammatical errors, but I am not scam. Someone can explain me: why when you start chat on match.com IM people start to ask for yahoo im and prefer to use it. Not match.com IM. Are they scamers?

He finally asked me to wire transfer $6000 to his translater's account in turkey to pay the supplier and get materials to finish his project in time. I asked him to pay me back first for the new tablet pc I mailed him a week ago. He said there is no time to delay because it takes several days to send and receive money blah blah.. Anyway he is coming back to the states for sure if his real name is minor redomond. He forwarded his flight infomation and I was able to confirm at delta.com . The ticket is non refundable and paid by a credit card which he is not supposed to have any. If you or anyone who got scammed by him wants to catch him, he will arrive at LAX next tuesday by delta flight# 9378.

I did not bother to go there because I was pretty sure he did not send me his real pictures. The guy and the kids in the photos I have are probably from someone else's facebook, myspace, or somewhere on the internet.I don't belive he is from ireland either, most likely he is turkish.

Merry Christmas all the scammers are out in droves on Plenty of Fish right now. They seem to be looking for lonley women duirng Christmas again. And look out at Valentines that's the worst time. I've had so many on POF and never usually get them there. Same old sob stories I'm a single dad, my wife cheated on me with my best friend and I had to get full custody. Oh yeah they don't know California law doesn't care if your spouse cheats, they won't take your kids for that. And their parents died in a fatal car crash while singing hyms on the way to church. Yuk their stories are so sick. They are so stupid they can't even come up with something better.

Hello Everyone,

At match.com I received an unsolicited email from a Chanda Philogene claiming to live nearby, working for USPS, originally from Italy, father from Lynchburg, VA, and had to leave for London to visit sick mother in London and his son (Kelvin).

Within a week this hint for money was sent to me:

How was your night? Im sorry for getting back to you late i have been busy trying to figure things out here. I think im thinking about you here in every step taking too. I settled my mom bill and her surgery is set for tomorrow but im having trouble trying to get Kelvin visa, im trying to see where i can borrow some amount and refund it back asap. I missed you so bad my love and i cant wait to hearing from you.

The language is very similar to the messages I received from my scammer. Always asking" how was your night" "how was your day"? Never mentioning my name. Always the same.

Stay away from this one.

Thanks for the inputs...I definitely did NOT fall or send money. In fact, I asked him for his local phone number and he came back with a 453 area code. I did the reverse look up and found the code was invalid.
Ok, so am I a Nancy Drew, or as my kids would say, "Negative Nancy!"??? Yes, I think protecting myself, my family, my money, and every thing else I worked for and hold dear is worth due diligence!

Sounds crazy but I'm glad to hear I wasn't the only person on match.com someone tried to scam. The man's fake name was Jack Jerry, then he said no it was Jerry Jack, like it made a difference. He was a structural engineer working in South Africa and would be coming home, to Canton GA, as soon as his job was done. I live in AZ but that was okay because he could live and work anywhere. I had only been on match for two weeks and was very naive to say the least. I gave him my phone numbers, home and cell, and my home address because he wanted to send me flowers. He also gave me his phone number which is a South African number, at least I checked that out. His number is/was 278-335-29699. His email address is/was [email protected] and that's his yahoo messenger ID also.

He fell in love with me after only a few times Instant Messaging, he even had me convinced I loved him too. He called several times a day, he was so attentive. When I would express my thoughts of distrust or things sounding too good to be true, he made sure he reassured me until I believed his every word again. Obviously now, this was a full-time job for him. When we talked on the phone I questioned his accent and found it difficult to understand him at times. He said he was shipped off to the UK when he was 17 by his parents because he was a handful and had lived out of the U.S. most of his life. His written grammar wasn't great. He would use "I'm" when it didn't make sense, something like "He is older than I'm."

His contract happened to end and he decided to not renew. He even booked his flight to come to visit me and forwarded me the itinerary. I did notice he had purchased a fully refundable ticket which I found odd since he would be flying in only four days.

After he was sure he had me convinced he made his move. He was going to the bank the next morning to close his account then go to the job site to pay his workers. While on his way to the site he came up on a roadblock in the road. He got out of the car to check out why. Suddenly 5-6 men came out of nowhere, he was hit on the back of the head. He fell to the ground and was roughed up. They took all the cash for his workers and his wallet. Now all he wanted to do was to get out if that country and come home. If I would send him the money to pay his workers he would pay me back as soon as he arrived here. After all he did have his flight information sent to me from the airline.

I told him I wasn't stupid and I would not be sending him $20 let alone the. 2000 he asked for. He was so hurt I had called him a "lier to his face". I can't help but see that statement and laugh. It represents him perfectly.

I hope some of what I have written helps others in some way. Maybe the more we spread the word the less likely people, women and men, will be taken in by these ruthless scammers.

I did report this all to the FBI online and I recommend everyone who has been taken in or almost taken in do the same. Its not necessary for you to have actually sent money to report this crime. The more we report, the more likely these low-life scum bags will be stopped.

I have never tried Match.com , but do laugh at the banner ads I see.

It is SO obvious that most of the women (and some of the men) lie about their age. How stupid are you? Do you really think men will believe the BS age you post?

Cindy,
I too fell victim to Jack Jerry. I goodgled his name and even looked for his ex wifes name. He told me he didn't have a middle name.
He was headed to Arizona the end of January but luckily I found your post.
He told me all about how his family sent him to England at 17 and was a structural engineer on a contract job in South Afica.
Unbelieveable. His accent does not sound British.
I am mortified. I wonder if he was successful in scamming other women or not.
I knew it was too good to be true that is why I started doing some research.
Best of luck Cindy and be careful.
