Hello ladies...I am an Indian guy (East Indian) living in the US...I get a feeling that most girls here do not like Indian guys. For example, I was in the gym the other day for a group fitness class and we needed a partner to exercise with, so I was randomly paired up with one American girl....she did not even smile back at me and it seemed she didn't want to even look at me. That's just one example, but in daily life too, me and my Indian friends have experienced that most American girls put on a very contemptuous and unfriendly expression when an Indian guy happens to make a casual eye contact (not leering) with them.

What is it about most Indian guys that girls hate? looks? accent? behavior? cleanliness? manners? height? color? culture? I would really like to know what repels most girls from Indian guys and maybe try to improve if its possible.
Thanks.

Man, goras are always passive towards newly arrived Indians. It has been my experience at least with my friends' who are newly from India and me, being an American-born Indian. I think they just can't get over the accent or something! Though sometimes, even I have to admit, some newly-arrived give that funky Indian odor!! Hah! Just get yourself some strong Old Spice body wash (girls dig it)!

Not everyone is like that though, just relax and move on if somebody is that superficial. Hell, some of my good friends that are girls (non-indian) always push me to do the Indian accent; always a fun time.

Again man, just relax. Don't think too much over it, and don't change yourself. Be you, and find people who like you for you.

Good luck man!

They have heard through the grapevine ( whether true or not ) that middle eastern men are *cough* less than endowed, and generally poor lovers, if you catch my drift.

Not saying its true, just thats what is said amongst women.

I have the reverse problem. I'm Indian and I have had girlfriends who are white and east asian, but for some reason never been with an Indian Girl. Then again I did grow up here and feel like a foreigner when i'm back in India :S

Hey, I agree with shygurl- I find Indian guys very attractive! I really like the accent.. And by the way, neither I nor any of my friends have ever discussed that men from that part of the world are "less endowed".. Come on, grow up!

So, sweetguy, if you come across women that regard you that way, then they aren't worth it! I think the key to getting women to notice you is having confidence.. So get out there and show us white girls what you're made of!

I agree also, I'm white and I find a lot of indian guys attractive. I've never dated an indian guy (I live in the middle of nowhere), but I would if I met one with similar interestes as me.

I LOVE INDIAN MEN. And I am trying to date more and maybe have a long term relationship. i adore the accent, I can live with their culture, as long as they expect my culture. We should share ideas.

The Indian guys i know are nice, i just find the body odor to be a little bit "distinct". Is it because of the spices in Indian cuisine?

A past relationship with an Indian guy taught me alot about Indians and family life, although maybe it has stereotyped it a bit. I am not Indian btw.

1. Many are players, cheat & lie, as parents already have some girls lined up for arranged marriage. Most in the end do not end up with girls who are not Indian due to family being against it.
2. Culture/religious differences.
3. Their thoughts about role of women after marriage. Traditional ones like to live with in-laws.
4. Boys very attached to mother, few will be on wife's side if diff in opinions.
5. Depending where they come from, can be big drinkers and drug users.
6. Some family backgrounds - family consists of abusive and cheating fathers who don't treat wife well. Guess this doesn't just happen in Indian families though but you do read alot about it.

I think there are some really nice Indian guys out there and if they weren't like the above, I would be still happy to go with them as they can be very loving. Also there appears to be a huge difference between Indian guys born overseas vs Indian guys born in India (as per mine was). However, it's just difficult to take the chance now to go out with one who might not want to take a non-indian/indian relationship seriously. You just don't want to get hurt again.

Hi. As a Romance Coach and Online Dating Coach, I haven't encountered this bias. As with all Interracial and Cross Cultural alliances, communication and aligning on shared values is essential. I live in Silicon Valley. People marry very successfully across cultures here. Maybe it's because to us this is completely normal.

What do you think?

All the best,

I dont think most girls hate indians. It might be that some girls dont really like people/things that they dont really know. some girls might be more reserved, seeing that in their minds your different and might hesitate to interact. There's nothing wrong with you so relax. I'm dating and southern indian guy and many ppl out there are too. just dont go crazy changing yourself and expect to be in a relationship asap. start out being freinds and see what happens.

neo hippy- many people consider themselves from where ever there parents are from. maybe they grew up in another land but their values, languages, family, religion reflects who they are and where they originally came from. they're proud of there heritage and cling on to it.
