Exxon Makes Record Profits as Gas Prices Skyrocket

Does everyone realize BIG OIL has boats parked off the coast waiting for the price per barrel to go up. The US Goverment (The Pres.) needs to go to OPEC and tell them what we will pay per barrel and not a penny more or we will not allow the import. Yes this will affect the US people for a short time, but we can use our reserves to carry us over. We also need to regulate big oil here in the US. If all else fails we invade and take control of Venexuela! Three day job for the Special Forces and all the oil we'll ever need!

Wow, no wonder oil prices are so high if BIG OIL is paying "boats" demurrage costs to sit offshore waiting for prices to go up. If I had a business and the prices of my product were selling at record prices that's what I would do - pay money to wait to see what happens to prices. Shareholders won't mind if you pay out boatloads of cash to gamble on oil going up rather than getting record prices now. Its amazing this is such a well kept secret. |

the pres ain't gonna do it his family and friends are oil barrons so the more we suffer the richer he gets i agree with the statement that he is a terrorist because he just keeps driving our country futher and further into the ground we should bounce him and his administration out on their a sses! |
|
Some old fart told me yesterday that we'll never see gas at a buck a gallon again.

Excellent observation. Does anyone know what products ARE going to fall by 75%? If so let us all know so that we can sell now. |
|
This also happened in the 70's. Big Oil is also saying there is a shortage of product. This is do to the ships not delivering product. Right now they are taking product from the gulf over to Europe. Why? Europe will pay more profits also to make it look like a shortage of product in the US. It's in black and white this is not a fairy tale. |
|
Good point because in today's financial markets the arbitration between Europe and the U.S. that such a strategy would create would never get closed and people would just keep making money hand over fist forever. I also read that the U.S. imports about 10 million barrels of oil a day. I'll bet those BIG OIL companies are just driving hundreds of ships around the ocean waiting for prices to get higher in the U.S. or else they're taking them to Europe where their willing to "pay more profit." Since you're in Houston maybe you can let us all know when the ships start coming in cause then we'll be the first to know the price is about to come down. |

The American people are Energy HOGS,
Zero Sympathy for them, maybe they can crawl to work, losing weight in the process. If it were not for the oil companies, there would be no oil period. |
|
You have no clue, americans are rotten to the core, maybe they can waddle to work, instead of trying to steal oil. |

Where did you get this piece of information about the boats sitting out in the Gulf waiting on oil prices. I just want to know what paper of magazine you got that from. Or is it just a "rumor" that you have made up. Do you realize what would happen if this was true, do you reall belive that there are tankers waiting for the oil price to change. I don't think so. by the way the oil companies do not set the prices on oil it is the people up in New York City at the exchange that set the futures oil price. That is where the posting price is set for the refiners, who then pay the producers for their oil. |

I'm overjoyed seeing record profits each and every quarter and equally happy to see the oil executives with tremendous salaries and well earned perks to match.
Simply said, I just love the smell of oil. |

Actually, I think a boycott could work. If you take on one giant at a time. Since Exxon seems to be the biggest giant of all, I would suggest not buying from them, or their stations by other names, for a month. They would almost certainly be forced to lower thier prices and in the meantime the other oil companies enjoying the revenues that once belonged to Exxon would know that they are next if things don't change.
|
|
Two issues with that - 1) name one successful economic boycott in the history of mankind (those accompanied by military force do not count unless you have a tank you haven't told us about); 2) Despite the drivle posted on this site, Exxon makes very little $ selling gas to broke grandmas, they make all their money selling crude to refiners and then refining it and selling the products to other companies. They could outlast a boycott far longer than the public could. |

Why don't they tax those lil white women who drive those big suv's all crazy on the road extra. They need to give a tax break to the communitys that need them.
|

i see a number of people keep saying that the oil companioes and investers pays record taxes too., well from what i see we are the ones that pay their higher taxes. when i pay 3.65 per gal im doing the paying.

The tax amount per gallon of gas remains the same. Only the profits for the oil companies are rising.
