"... a home-made documentary entitled, Truth Land..." Oh pleeeease don't be so misleading. It was hardly home-made, it was proudly sponsored by the Independent Petroleum Association of America who promote the interests of gas and oil producers. It is propaganda. The truth is, fracking is a dirty business. There have been many accidents, spills and reports of air and water contamination and pollution. America is desperate for energy sources and this dirty business was made exempt from the clean air and water act by Bush / Cheney; which is absolutely shocking! IT IS A DIRTY BUSINESS! DON'T LET THEM FOOL YOU.

This link is an un-biased report for the wells on the Depue property.
I think it is also important to note that these reports from the DEP were issued in March of 2012 and the film "truthland" was released months later. The industry and Shelly Depue were very aware that they had wells that were contaminating water and still released the film.Read below.

Franklin Forks family sues driller
"Tammy and Matthew Manning of Franklin Twp. said WPX Energy and two associated companies contaminated the aquifer through spills and poorly constructed gas wells in a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Citing state Department of Environmental Protection violations documented at six natural gas wells on two WPX well pads, known as the Hollenbeck and Depue, the family argued that the companies were negligent in drilling and operating the wells.
According to the film,Shelly Depue sets out on a fact finding mission to find out what fracking is all about and all the while she has 3 wells on her property that have tainted her water and her neighbors water?? So when the DEP found trouble on her own property she asked no questions?? She didn't ask any questions at that point??
She was portrayed in the film as having no knowledge of how wells are drilled or how well cases are built but the truth is that she has has 10 wells on her property.
Shelly Depue's troubles with her wells actually started in early 2011.Are we to believe that the type of person that would head out on a 4000 mile road trip to find the truth did not ask any questions when her wells were contaminating the neighborhoods water??
During the film,Shelly Depue travels a great distance to learn about well casings from an industry expert...she leaves the expert feeling very confident in the process and believes the Industry has things under control all the while knowing what is happening in her back yard??
People need to take a look at what the industry is selling us.

To bad truthland was a piece of propaganda by the gas companies. Only a dumb $&@ would beleive that biased piece of crap. Shelly demitt knows all too well of the violations that thousands of these wells incur.

Hydraulic fracturing has been used for decades. It is unlikely to cause ground water contam action if the reservoir deep, say 15000 ft. If it is shallow, it is a different story.
