SAIC Study Assesses Economic Implications on Future Energy Costs, Economic Growth, Employment, Production, Household Income and Low Income Earners

The conclusions of the reports indicate that the legislation, if passed into law, would have a profound economic impact on U.S. businesses, consumers and governments nationally and in all 50 states. A sampling of the national findings includes:

 Gross Domestic Product (GDP) losses of $151 billion to $210 billion in 2020 and $631 billion to $669 billion per year in 2030
 Employment losses of 1.2 million to 1.8 million jobs in 2020 and 3 million to 4 million jobs in 2030
 Household income losses of $739 to $2,927 per year in 2020 and $4,022 to $6,752 per year in 2030
 Electricity price increases of 28% to 33% by 2020 and 101% to 129% by 2030
 Gasoline price increases (per gallon) of 20% to 69% by 2020 and 77% to 145% by 2030

If you think our ecomomy is in bad shape now wait until this bill takes effect. The carbon tax is what this is all albout. No elected politian is going to say raise the tax on gas or heating oil or natural gas. They would never get re-elected. But talk about taxing a polutate like carbon and everyone thinks you are GREEN.This is how stupid most people are they have no idea that taxing carbon is the same thing as taxing the product that produces carbon. Think how stupid this idea is we spend millions reducing our carbon foot print and some idiot starts a forest fire and emits tons and tons of carbon. How about a volcano millions of tons of carbon. My back ground education is in Biology and the science of climate change has nothing to do with Carbon and everything to do with the Sun. The Maeder Minimum

The only thing "green" about any kind of carbon TAX or greenhouse gas legislation is MONEY. Insiders (Al Gore), in league with Senators, stand to make millions and millions of dollars at the public's expense.
The name of the game for the left (Socialists) has always been to confiscate individual wealth and give it to others or grow the Federal government. So, wealth transfer is the ultimate goal of most any Federal legislation which has revenue implications.
Bush has set the stage for a regime change: Democratic White House and Congress. Once in complete control, the taxes and wealth transfers can begin in ernst, starting with a repeal or non-renewal of all the Bush era tax cuts. The result will be a tax increase back to those levels in force during the Clinton Administration in 2000.
In the end, no matter what you though you had, you will have less, and so will your children. Since about half of all Americans have few assets to speak of, and are nobodies, they probably won't know the difference anyway. To more than half of all citizens of the United States, political talk sounds good enough and they readily believe what they hear.
This is one reason why high net worth individuals (multimillionaires and up) have long been renouncing their citizenship and moving themselves and their financial assets overseas to lower tax rate countries, such as Ireland, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ.com )
