MY TAKE

I lived in and worked in FT Worth for a brief time long ago. While there it was not hard to find out who was in control. Most thought that the city was run by the whims of the huge military industrial complexes around town. Some even thought the Bankers were the play callers but that was not true. Developers of home properties and high-rise and high rent districts were again thought to be on the top of what went on. But not so. Finally a trip led around town by one who had been born and raised there showed me who was really on top of the heap.

Ft Worth was cow town USA until the oil boom in West Texas made the poor dirt farmers rich beyond measure. With all their sudden wealth they became very smart at the same time. Seems it is always that way.

Midland TX was most of the new wealth folks called home had to move on from there so they settled in Ft Worth. And WOW at the mansions those poor dumb dirt farmers built.

So what then ---- their wealth grew and grew and the close cultures of those folks did not go outside their confines. Yes that is what we have today so Mr. Simpson can surely be found to be traced back to those fortunes of those old dumb dirt farmers that made a buddle and kept it when oil was discovered in the Permian Basin.
