Good for you! On a side note, though, you'll be thankful it came on a Friday as you now have tomorrow to rest your muscles! You'll be hurting in places you didn't know existed! lol:)

That should be "biked to work"; not "bikes to work". The guy will probably never do it again. I bet he doesn't "bike to home."

Man I wish I would have heard about Bike to Work Day before today! Must not have been any room left on the news pages after reporting all the shootings. Oh well, I promise to go out in the garage and look at my bike when I get home.(I know it's in there somewhere)

My bike is uncomfortable just going down my driveway (time for a new one possibly). How long did it actually take him to make it? How many near death experiences along the way? LOL

4-1/2 hours one way in optimum weather conditions. Let's do the math, a 9 hour commute, 9 hour day workday, leaving 6 hours for sleep, shower, family time and meals. Sounds more like a concentration camp schedule to me.(minus the beatings of course) |

Jamie those big ol' gel seats they have now are great.
Can you imagine biking the shoulder of M37 in the dark!?! I am having a near death experience just thinking about it. |

Hey, this is Jeff, the guy who rode his bike. Yes, I actually did ride home too. It's now Saturday night, and that seems like a bit of a mistake now! At least that's what my legs are telling me. |

Jeff,
I believe it. I've biked a 32 mile round trip to work and have been plenty sore and tired after it. Not something I'd do every day but I'd like to make a regular habit of it once or twice a week. |

Gee, I must have been in pretty good shape when I was younger. I used to occasionally ride to Grand Rapids and Grand Haven just for the fun of it on a balloon tire bicycle. That was all we had back then! I got hit on my bike in the early sixties, got a new bike, and rode it to Grand Haven from Holland the day I got off crutches. Returned too.

Not practical for most people. :-(

If he has the time and energy, good for him. As a kid I also rode many miles daily, but I had ntohing else to do, no job, no worries, ni family depending on me. Oh to be young again.........
