Raise revenue by raising taxes on Greene's walmart and lowes (in addition to getting more state and federal funds)and actually pay people for the hard work they provide the public. Don't let the rich keep their money while the po folks have to work for free. Anyone who is in agreement to the proposition stated in this story should consider volunteering at work while their bosses rake in the profit.

This is not a decision a sheriff makes. Smith is not a city manager or mayor. What does Snead and his former position have to do with this? Non-paid volunteers are not the answer. Fund civilization!!!

So if something happens in a school they gonna let some fat old white guy, not even a sworn police officer, go in there and play Gawd? Hope they're not allowed to carry guns. Real cops with guns are bad enough.

This article talks about protecting our children and the citizens of Greene. Where sheriff Steve Smith is the ICAC program at that you promised the people of Greene County? That was one of your promises to the people in Greene County, and I havent heard one word of that being done at the Sheriffs department.

I am a volunteer reserve deputy in another county. I am sworn in and carry a firearm. I have had countless hours of training. I save tax payers $10's of thousands of dollars a year... A simple thank you would be nice instead of bashing me and my colleagues. Guess it shows no matter what we try to do someone will always complain.
