Hello everyone! We are doing the first fundraiser for our non-profit organization when we subtract 15% of the profit for operation costs. What is a correct math here?

We spent 100$ for food and raised 1000$. What is our 'profit' in this case (1 OR 2)?

1) 1000$- 100$= 900$
profit is 15 % of 900$ is 135$

2) 15 % of 1000 is 150$
profit is 150$-90$=60$
