Why did Republicans vote against a bill that would required all the components of the Keystone pipeline to be made in America? Republicans again caught in a lie about wanting to create American jobs.

"Claims by industry that they will 'return the land we use - including reclaiming tailings ponds - to a sustainable landscape that is equal to or better than how we found it'... are clearly green washing," the authors write. They are expected to present their findings Tuesday at the University of Alberta.

An oilsands industry spokesman said three decades of bitumen mining has contributed to lessons being learned and used for reclamation.

The Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) is built across the Denali Fault. In the East, at least 19 major gas pipelines are built over or through the seismic zone of the New Madrid Fault.

When the pipeline crosses a state border or becomes commerce between the states, the Federal government can stop it.

And yet it can and should stop threats and hazards to the people, and uphold the people's interests of which the pipeline is not since it's only subsidizing private profits with public funds.
