joe, i'v been wondering about this, too. my father told me that a neighbor of mine (about a mile down the road) once had a natural gas well that supplied gas for his house.(that was many years ago.) i'd like to know what is involved in trying here.

Private gas well
My home well is 176 feet deep. The water comes up with dissolved gas, that put in a bottle, and allowed to rise to the top,can be burned off with a match. Is there a pocket of gas above the water that can be exploited for private use? Is anyone doing this?

Northern and Northeastern Marion County are underlain by the Trenton Formation at a depth of about 900 feet. The Trenton at one time was a major gas producing formation. If you are in this vicinity, the gas could be coming from the Trenton. Contact the Indiana Division of Oil and Gas for more information.

Our company is Universal Well Site Solutions and we sell well site automation and service them as well. We service wells in the Powder River Basin in Wyoming mostly but have been developing a broader market throughout the United States as well as Australia. Our web site is www.uctdrives.com . We are currently updating our website and that project should be completed within the next 10 days.

Been drilling for water here in ohio and hit gas, but how much do we actually need to be able to run the heat in the house? How many psi in other words? It seems that the well drillers don't want to deal with it and drill through for water what should I do? thanks

William, how does one go about capturing the natural gas on their property for their own use?

We are considering purchasing a house with several natural gas wells on it. Are ther any health concerns we should be aware of related to these wells. We have 2 small children and plan on raising dogs and horses.
Thanks
Sherry
