What is usually the spread between buying (in Ghana) an oz of gold (or kilo) from a miner and then selling to the PMMC?
Next to nothing. just ask youself one question--Why would a miner sell to you for less then what he would receive at the PMMC.

Dear, we want to buy the gold directly in ghana and pay there, can you think there is anydody accepting this: Our procedures are very simple. No money upfront for any reason
Buyer chooses the refinery for testing and Assay.
All of the gold is tested and assayed, not a sample.

Yes you can pick up in Ghana. The company in which you will be dealing with is one of the largest gold trading companies in Ghana..... price 8.25% below the LME of the day for 22k gold nuggets. They meet and exceed your expectations.

I am about to buy gold from a middle size miner that has 100-200 acre concession in Ghana with approx 1000 workers, 3 excavators that produces 5-10 kilos a week. It's 92.5% purity and 23 karats. My ghanian partner has a lic, I know that we can sell to PMMC for 36,000 a kilo. We have not agreed on a price yet, what should I expect his price to come in at? I'm hearing a lot of conflicting things out there. For instance on this forum someone says 22,000, then 3-4% below LME (small scale), I was also told buy from miner at 30,000 and then sell at the PMMC for 36,000 (if that's the price on that day) that's a 16% spread?? Now I know a small scale miner that can produce 1-2 kilos a week, he has 25 acres, 1 excavator and don't know how many workers, he's selling for 30-32,000 a kilo, which would be a 4,000 - 6,000 profit per kilo if selling to PMMC.

Could someone please help me determine what the answer would be to my question above on what I can expect to pay per kilo from the mid size miner. Very confusing, there are also conflicting pricing amounts on the ground in Ghana.

What you are trying to do can not be done. It is that simple. Most if not all small scale miners sell either to the PMMC for 4% under or other companies in Accra who pay 3% under the LME.

Thanks for the quick respond. Going back to my original question of buying gold from the medium scale miner as stated above with 100-200 acres, 3 excavators and approx. 1000 workers. He is willing to sell us gold, what price should we expect that he will be charging us per kilo?

GhanaGold1942, what kind of experience do you have in buying/selling gold in Ghana? How long have you been doing it and do you frequently make trips to Ghana? Have you been successful in this? I meet alot of people from all over the world at the Golden Tulip in Accra, most buying/selling gold. No one ever wants to disclose any type of information, what's the deal?

Gold is gold. In Ghana you can buy a lot of it legally for under the LME. That is the gift of Ghana. As far as price is concerned, you get about a couple of points off the spot.

That is it! And that is it for the rest of the world as well, at least in the real gold trading business.

we are local miners in Ghana west African galamsay village we have been in service for 14years now.We have 240kg of Gold dust stored in the bank for sales

1.quality 22k

2.quantity 240kg

3.price $27000 per kilo

4.The buyer will come down to Ghana and go the bank with the seller buyer will pick up a sample for the box and send it anywhere for testing.

5.the buyer and the villagers will have momarandom of understanding of agreement for this shipment.

6.Payment after refining in your refinery the villagers will now forward an account for payment by the buyer

we got your contact through a reliable source that you are (trustworthy) We know that is not your field but we only want you to be an in-porter in your country because if we supply to PMMC they will buy it in local currency and payment after six months so we the local miners have dissuaded to sell to foreign buyers and pay PMMC there chargers with PMMC agents,

Dear Sir,

I am currently in Accra. I am looking for bars, not dust. Let's say we meet at PMMC or Asap Vasa, we test gold and gold is what you say it is. Why would you sell to me for $27,000 a kilo usd, when I will turn right around and sell to PMMC or Asap Vasa and they will give me approx.$40,000. It makes no sense for you?

PS: Is your name Fred Smith or Fred Kofi?

Fred Kofi, since you did not answer my questions, I can only assume that you are a scam like 95% of the gold offers on the internet. The name "Kofi" is a common scam name. FYI for everyone out there these con artist have a different name and email address for every customer they communicate with, this way they can keep track of who they are scamming. They are very slick. There is a ton of gold in Ghana, but for just as much gold there is, you will find just as many scammers. And it is just not one, but a large network of people involved, the front man, which would be the person trying to sell you gold over the internet, then there's the actual people that meet you and do the transaction, then there's the police department that are paid off to help these guys get off. They even have attorneys. It's a web, and if you do not have actual connections in Ghana and know the locals, don't waste your time. The miners usually don't scam people, it's the brokers, the in between men and women. Other than soccer, Ghana does not have sports like we do, football, baseball, basketball, etc... their sport is to cheat and take. Most Ghanaians are very good people, but it's the few that make it impossible for the country of Ghana to move forward. I have been fortunate enough to meet some really wonderful people from Ghana that I consider like family, but trust me I have seen first hand how deep the coruption goes and the evil networking of the so called gold sellers in ghana and what they have done to foreigners. Beware gold buyers, these sellers on the internet are the best liars ever!
So what you got Fred Kofi? 240 kilograms? Give me a break dude! One last important advice for gold buyers. You wanna buy gold, then go to Ghana, know the system, get to know the people, there are good honest sellers out there, remember the transaction is always, always on your terms, never never the seller.
