This company obviously cares very little about 1)the community it wishes to establish itself in,nor 2) their company reputation. Reasons are as follows:
1) The company does not care about the community because they refuse to accept that there is potential harm in operating so close to a drinking water source/intake. No matter how big or little the community, a company should always maintain healthy relations with the city and people around them. 2) TEPPCO also does not care for their reputation. As it stands, they have ignored local leaders attempt to relocate to a better site. Even though they say there will be no problems, they should back up their safety measures by locating as far as possible from water sources so as to minimize the effects of any accident. |

I think that ADEM should be MADE to get tough on this situation. And if a policy change is made MAKE IT. They are the ones who decide how safe the water we drink is. Somebody in the government should have the guts to get tough when its needed! OK Governer Riley start twisting arms. Or are you in bed with big industry all the time?

TEPPCO, forget Decatur and come to Jackson County.
WE WANT YOU! |

You are only talking about 4-5 permanment jobs after completion and those will not be locals....The taxes that TEPPCO will pay will not even cover repairing highways let alone the damage that will be done when there is a spill...and there will be a spill look at their history. There is nothing good about TEPPCO the only people that made a profit were those that closed the deal.
WAKE UP STOP TEPPCO |
