Just another perverse attempt to do an end-run around the Constitution. Which of course won't work:

"An amendment of the constitution is of still higher authority, for it has the effect of controlling and repealing the express provisions of the constitution authorizing a power to be exercised, by a declaration that it shall not be construed to give such power. 3 Dall 382."--U.S. Supreme Court Justice BALDWIN, Circuit Court of The United States,[PENNSYLVANIA APRIL TERM 1833 BEFORE Hon. HENRY BALDWIN, Associate Justice of the [U.S.] Supreme Court, Hon JOSEPH HOPKINSON District Judge, Johnson v Tompkins,(13 F. Cas. 840 (C.C.E.D. Pa. 1833)), and others.]

Why don't you stay down in the sewer and play with yourself? I'm sure your little rat buddies will help you find that string that is tied to your gonads.

Well, that's nice and all but you see, here's the thing. You may find this hard to believe but, the US Constitution means dick all to anyone who doesn't live in America.
This is NOT an attempt at an end run on the Constitution because nowhere does it say in the Canadian Constitution that anyone has the right to own a firearm.
Your quote from Baldwin is completely irrelevant in this case as there is no "2nd Amendment" to our Constitution.

The other thing is, this is a Conservative govt doing the study. The SAME Conservative govt that abolished the previous Liberal govt's National Long Gun Registration. The Conservatives actually believe(and I agree with them) that a cop in Vancouver, BC does NOT need to have instant access to information about any and every rifle owner in Toronto, Ontario.

Lead is a toxic substance which can have a collateral effect on the environment, ie: many birds and mammals feed on the gut piles and carcasses that they find during and after hunting season. In many cases, these animals unknowingly eat lead when the carcasses have been shot with lead ammo.
The study is merely to determine how much of a threat lead ammo is to these animals. IF it comes to it, banning lead ammo is not a big deal since other materials are now being used, like copper.

I think Canada has found a decent compromise(for the most part) between permitting ownership of firearm's and gun control. We've had some form of gun control since the 1920s or '30s but, much like the US, it's mainly those on the left who want to restrict or even prohibit access to any firearms.

Didn't realize it was an article about Canadian gun control. Saw "fed" and automatically assumed it was U.S.
