Hi,
I was seeing some small white patches on my hands and feet last year and then during a general doctor checkup - My TSH was tested to be high (~ 7.5) and so I was put on thyroxine - 50 mcg(Hypothyroid). In the next 3 months of taking this medicine, I felt my patches grew very fast. When I shared this with my Primary Care Doctor or even the dermatologist they said the medicine should not do that and it is just that both are auto-immune diseases and are showing up simultaneously.
Later I got my TOP (thyroid anti-bodies) checked and they were crazy high at ~ 850, the normal level is like ~ 20.
I am new mother ( have a 10 month old precious daughter) and I think pregnancy is taking a huge toll from me.-:(
Has anyone been in a similar situation of this skin condition occurring after child birth?
I plan to start Lukoskin treatment but I will have to wait until I wean my nursing infant.
Just wanted to share my experience and will post more once I start Lukoskin treatment.
It is great to people becoming more and more active and sharing their experience on this "not so fun" or say "depressing" skin condition which as far as I am aware doesn't have a definite treatment so far that works for all. Hope remains!
Thanks.
dear divya

Any new spots appearing with usage of lukoskin in initial 6 months is due to improper diet , worms infestation, stress, thyroid imbalance or changes In liver functions so kindly get these checked and then comment on a public forum..
A lot of money time and effort has been invested by DRDO AND AIMIL so kindly use your wisdom before commenting

Diva,
My wife did not have high levels of TSH.
The spread is on her hands and feet .
The spread is symmetric.
I have an update for all here, unfortunately my worst fears have come true.My wife did recover a lot of lost pigment due to Lukoskins .i know for sure that the treatment brings back color but I was not sure if it would sustain it.unfortunately for my wife the color that she regained has slowly started disappearing and this is totally frustrating. She has not been receiving enough sunlight so I understand that she would not be able to see any progress but the fact that color that she gained is disappearing is not encouraging to was my worst fear.A medicine can be considered a cure if the color can be sustained. We have not see any spread though and I don't think the medicine caused any spread. In order t be fair I have to admit that my wife has never really stuck to the diet very strictly but inspire of that she received great progress so I am it sure if the loss of color is linked to diet.I did speak to Dr Rakesh Bharadwaj who claimed that that a number of patients have recovered completely without a relapse and has encouraged us to follow the diet.My wife plans to stick to the diet however as there is no sunlight here as it is winter we will have to wait till Spring to see any progress.I refuse to blame the medicine but would appreciate it greatly if the Dr's provide a clear protocol in terms of other things that need to be considered like Nikita mentioned.iI think these should be mentioned (thyroid, worms) etc in advance along with supplements that need to be taken to balance these conditions.
I will continue to update this community and encourage everyone else to do so as we'll with honest recommendations and suggestions.

Hi Rakesh, I've read your multiple posts and i was very happy that your spouse was getting the skin color back. Not sure if i have missed any of your previous update , but do you OR the docs tell you why the patches were re-appearing ? Had she stopped the treatment OR its lack of sunlight.
I've read about Lukoskin and the tall claims , my wife vitiligo spread after pregnancy and now we plan to start this medication. She has got her Liver lest done and took a de-worming pill.

I did call the Dr and they think it could be an issue with her not maintaining diet which she not been very strict about. However so far it had been working. My concern was that Lukoskin will bring back color temporarily and that it would not address the source if the problem which is auto immunity. If this medicine can address the reoccurrence then it wil be a wonder drug. The reason for the spots to reappear in my opinion is the lack of sunlight as its winter. We are however goi v to try deworming etc and see if that has any effect.

Worms infestation
Thyroid
Diet restrictions
Low immunity levels
Intake of vitamin c supplements
Stress
Exposure to chemicals like agarbatti dhoopbatti hair dye colours are the Major causes for spreading ...
LUKOSKIN DOES NOT CAUSE ANY SPREADING OF NEW PATCHES
Thanks

I am not sure what metric you are talking about. In our case there was a lot of repigmentation which has unfortunately started fading and suspect that is because we are unable to get sun exposure.I understood that the medicine would not work without sunshine but I was not aware that the pigmented area would depigment as well.As per Dr Nikita we are trying deworming etc to see if that could be the cause.Hope this helps.

Apparently itching is good but I'd you apply a lot cream or expose the skin to sunlight too long it will cause blisters . Jasmine oil is good to reduce itching in my experience.

Hi Dr. Nikita,

My 5 year old daughter has this Vitiligo condition and she is taking Lukoskin for a week now. Could you please let me know what is worms infestation and how do we figure out if she has it or not? Your response is greatly appreciated.
