No surprises here, the company has been completely gutted and outsourced to India, and is full of contractors... no real Aussie works there anymore, just the blonde haired blue eyed flight attendants on frontline.. even the CEO is an Irishman.

Fly Singapore Airlines instead, or Virgin.

Qantas is the most uncomfortable airline I have ever travelled on.
They warn you about DVT, but cause the problem by packing you in like sardines.

Plus free booze to add to the DVT possiblity.

I have travelled onmost and Olypic Air (greece) was the worst long haul ever..rude horrible staff who spoke about you not to you (I don't speak greek well but know insults when I hear them) and I had to serve myself for drinks!!! Why, because I could not order in Greek!

this morning on the tellie was a Qantas promotion for cheap packages to Fiji...I just thought 'now there are a couple of dead in the media-water words put together...qantas and fiji resort deals'.

I agree Qantas is pretty good, mainly for their safety track record though, and British Airways and Thai are great too, regarding hospitality. But for me, the best airline crew all rounders are on Japan Airlines.

Always loved Quantas. It's a shame to see them go the way Alitalia and Austrian Airlines did.

Ansett was run into the grounds by an outside party who bought it, leeched it of all assets & capital and stripped all their new aircraft of parts and replaced with old, causing major engineering issues and hence delays and near misses.

The difference is with Qantas, it is done at the hands of Qantas Board at the top.

They are desparate to partner with any other airline, but just cant do it.
They are also desparate to raise capital for their super fund....which means alarm bells should go ringing!!!

I wonder were all their money went??
