Kodak are a funny company, there doesn't appear to be a concerted effort in any one direction. Straddling the market place between cameras and printers. I realise that their shift has moved to focus on printing, but why? Why do these retailers always want to be something else? A good example of this is HMV here in the UK.. They've only just got their act together and refound their roots after going off course chasing Apple's tail in the competition for highstreet electronics.

Another area where Kodak and other printing firms are losing out is the cost of printing consumables. If they were to streamline their processes they could compete with smaller retailers who offer remanufactured cartridges. These are not only greener but could create a great buzz for a company like Kodak's corporate responsibility outlook. I for one shop for remanufactured cartridges from http://www.cartridges-directuk.com because they're fairly local to me. If I wanted to buy official cartridges it's sometimes cheaper to buy a whole new printer!

Am tempted to do an investment in the company, a so called 'Kamikaze' investment. No pain no gain ;))
