We need to get set up with a Manufacturers Identification Number. Can anyone tell us who we need to contact in order to get the ball rolling?

This ID is constructed using guidelines in US customs form CPB 7501 appendix 2. It is a combination of country code, abbreviated company name, address and city. You make your own.

NO!! NO!! NO!! you cannot just make up your own. If this id will be used for generating a UPC barcode you must go to www.gs1.org .
They will help you set up a unique id for retail use. if you just make up your own, how do you know if it's being used by another company?
doesn't make sense SER!
a mfg. id number should be a unique 6 digit numerical number.
stop giving out wrong info SSER!!!

Lupe, I think that might be private info. so i don't think you can look it up.
VTK, go to gs1.org .
This is the uniform code council website. They are the ones that issue ALL Mfg. Id's.
Here's the link:

I know how to construct one. The questions is, does it have to be registered with CBP?

My husband has been looking into a variety of manufacturers for himself. He hopes that he will be able to find something soon. There are a lot of great options to choose from. I cannot wait for him to find something soon. http://www.midvalleymfg.com/
