Although the Hollis House is a Historical site, no one has been able to maintain its glorious looks. I feel that the new home sub division will add to the area. The Hollis house which has been owned still sits with boards on windows and sagging from neglect. I wish the Developer Robert Mc Grath and Meadow Estate the best and I feel once it is all complete it will look outstanding.
I am looking forward to watching the construction of new homes.......

Nobody ever tried to maintain it's glorious looks. When Design Development(AKA)Yarmouth Estates bought the property in 2005 it was in great condition because the previous owner did alot of work on the house. They proceeded to destroy it's glorious looks because it was in their way,not them or the town of Islip did anything to protect this Historic Property.Do your homework and go to the planning dept and ask for the file and you will see for 11 years the town would not allow development because of the Historical history. That was on final resolutions that the owners and town neglected to follow thru on.Even planning commissioner Dave Genaway said we let this one get away from us.The town getting free work on Brookwood Hall in exchange for removing the covenant allowing Meadow Farm Estates to raze this Historic property is a sham.

My family and I spent many happy hours visiting the Hollins family at the farmhouse, usually after a day of hunting. As a young boy I explored up and down the creek which separated the farmhouse from Mrs. Hollins' manor house. Christmas parties at Cric Holly were warm and wonderful family affairs. It is a way of life that most people will never experience and it's probably just as well that such reminders of those days be razed and built upon.

I hope your not holding your breath waiting for Robert McGrath to build this outstanding sub division. It is now April 2 2016 and all that is there are piles of dirt, high grass and junk that has been dumped by trucks. It looks like a dump in the highest property taxed area in East Islip. It went from Historical to deplorable.Like I said before the whole thing is a sham.
