WIC is probally the company stamp. Most companies mark the abreviations of their company inside the ring. This insures that the product is theirs, and not another companies.

The other day I went to a sale like a yard sale, but there was a whole bunch different people selling stuff in front of a antique shop no it wasn't a flea market. There was an old lady selling jewelry she had a nice gold bracelet it had blue sapphires and diamonds. I really want to know if it is real this old lady had really poor vision and could not read it. It
S14kGE and other clasp says LIND CHINA
I tryed the magnet test it doesn't stick bit. I
tryed the drop in water test it sinks. Does any body know what this means please tell?
Hey hun, The GE at the end of the S14kGE stands for gold electroplate which means that it is 14K gold but it is plated. Sorry, it's probably not worth a lot of money but who cares, if you like it then that's all that matters.

Please help, a very close friend gave me a gold necklace and a gold cross, and asked me to wear them at all times, which I have no objection to doing. My problem is after a few hours of wearing the cross my skin began to burn. I have Fibromyalgia as well as other things that cause chemical sensitivity. The back of the cross says Kt 14 Italy, we assumed that meant it was 14K gold, now I'm afraid we were wrong. I would like to know what I'm talking about when I. talk about this with my friend, is this cross 14K or something else?

I love thrift stores, and today I notice a gold tone lion head ring and it had COP 94, does this mean anything, and could it be gold?

Okay, I have been buying and selling gold/precious metals for a number of years, here is the skinny:
10kt is stamped .416, it's a Euro thing, 14kt is marked .583, 18kt is .750, it's all about purity. 24kt is pure so 18kt is three quarters pure, hence the .750. Any item in question,(not stamped)is probably not gold,(plated, filled or HGE, Heavy Gold Electroplated), jewelers will test with a small drop of acid, if it bubbles black or green, it's not gold. Always remember, gold bought at jewelry stores is marked up 200-300%, so like a car, the first buyer loses the most!

<quoted text> this is totally incorrect.. Gold is slightly attracted to a magnet, but cannot be made into a magnet.
Thanks. I just tried the magnet test and it does work.

The poster may no longer be here to read this, but a very simple way to tell if somehting is real gold is to put some foundation and face powder on the back of your hand and then rub the gold against it. If a black mark is left behind it is real gold. Real gold creates a chemical reaction with most makeup that fake gold will not.
Tried that and although it does work, sadly ALL metals leave a black mark, yes gold does but so does every thing else, any other idea's really would love to find a way to distinguish the real from the fake jewellery I have.

Hi all
I have what i beleive to be an 18ct diamond, white gold ring, The hallmarks inside it puzzle me though. There is AG with what looks like to be a sunshine, 0.10 (which is the diamond weight), 750 then what looks like to be a funny W with a .46 after it!! Any clues to what these marks may mean?
