<quoted text>Do you really think the Canadians would go for that? I think the last thing they would want is to be part of our monetary system, our wars and our politics. I think they are happy and proud to be up there enjoying life while we go around trying to police the world.
Canada won't want to join, but because Britain is a part of the EU,(or is seriously considering it), it will be presented to Canada as the expedient thing to do. By that time, the US will get it's comuppance, either violently or diplomatically, and will give up it's outdated policing mentality to the UN, which will be absorbed by the EU sooner than later. Any wars and politics will not be coming from the US any longer. It will be sanctioned by the world ruling party--the EU.

Please carry on with what you all were doing.
Gee! You're right Turd. Come to think of it, no party invites for me either. Small price to pay.

It's just the weekly price increase. It will drop down to 3.70 or so in the coming days until someone f.arts in the futures market and then it will bust $4.00 a gallon.

I can envision the USA cowtowing to the UN soon say in Jan 2009,since it is apparent that so many US citizens are feeling guilty because we have so much and 3rd world nations have so little, we should be doing so much more like distributing our great wealth to benefit the less fortunate. These folks I will call, Green Tree Hugging Bleeding Heart Liberals. You know, like, Bill Gates, Ted Turner, Warren Buffet, George Sorros(sp), Barbara Streisand, Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin, Randi Rhoades, Obama, etc etc etc. CHANGE is on the horizon.

I was watching cspan last night, and some of our elected officials are thinking of adding another dollar per gallon gas tax. This is supposed to cut demand.

And the people in the panel agreed.

It shocked me to hear that.

At least they're readily admitting that taxes do reduce the consumption or use of a service or product. Finally being honest about 1 thing.

I think old rocker had it right.

Thank you Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney for your wonderful leadership! Oh that's right you are both in the oil business....Hmmmmm and getting out of office soon. This should certainly pad your retirement. Good luck with that wedding on Saturday Mr. Bush where you are having a limestone cross alter built for your daughter when the rest of us are trying to figure out how we are going to feed our families and put fuel in the tanks to continue to try to go to work while the companies we work for are trying to figure out how to stay open.
You need to pay attention to how oil works. We have pointed out the reasons for the increases so many times. The administration has nothing to do with oil production but have tried to get Congress to allow companies to drill domestically. Look to your friends Levin and Stabenow.

Do the math and calculate the difference between the dollar and their money and you see that they are paying the same as us. Although it does look better and feel better put the way you have it. In Hartville the gas was at $3.55 at 8:30 A.M. and at 9 am went up to $3.79. I was not to happy (was running late bring my child to school so couldn't stop until after dropping her off.)

Well, now I've heard they want to get to $5.00 a gallon. So in a year or so we may be thinking $4.00 a gallon as "cheap gas" LOL...

Canada also has a much higher gas tax than we do. And their dollar is now equal to our dollar if not worth a little bit more, due to the continued devaluation of the American dollar. That's part of the problem with gas prices is that our dollar is so devalued (from printing money to pay for a couple of wars and tax "rebates") that it takes more of our dollars to pay for foreign oil on the world market. If our dollar was worth what is was say 4 or 5 years ago you could knock at least 25% off of the cost of a gallon of gas today.

Thats sad,But what can you do ,we can complain all we want,we can make changes , But our goverment has to do something . We help out everybody in this world when a crisis hits them,But nobody steps in to help us and that just pis.sses me off to no end. We have people who need food and medical needs here in the USA, I wish their was an easy button to push and makes things better here. Its sad when you have to tell youre grandkids they cant play baseball ,because gas is to high to run them all over the place to play,It was nice in my day when our kids could play sports, and not worry about is it soup for the week so they can play like the other kids,Its hard to explain that to kids.

Maybe we could start by quit trying to be the policeman of the world and expecting that every country is going to have a democratic form of government even if we have to force down their throats at gun point.
