Good news, President Bush stopped filling the reserve.

Now we need to look at nuclear energy and electric cars. Solar, though the in thing to do, will not on large scale provide for our energy needs. At least not with the technology we currently possess. Wind is variable and ify. Not all areas of the country have winds constant enough to justify the expense. Dams were great, but environmentalist have systematically dismantled a large protion of our dam network.

Unless Congress does something soon we can expect gas prices to climb well above $6 a gallon. We need to suspend the boutique blends currently in use around the country. We need to allow the building and opening of new refineries, without huge fees. We must drill ANWAR and off the gulf coast of Florida. These are temporary steps to hold back the flood while alternative power is brought online.

Forget alternative fuels. Bio diesel and Ethanol are a drain not a replacement. Fuel prices soar. More importantly food prices are going through the roof, partially due to diverting growing lands from food to fuel production.

Yona,

"Good news, President Bush stopped filling the reserve."

Whoo hoo! A whole 1/120th of 1% of what the US purchases every day. Net effect on the price of oil and gas, ZIP!

At what price will people finally tell the environmentalists to stuff it, shut up, and demand we drill for our own oil?

$5 a gallon?$6 a gallon?$8 a gallon?

According to the news tonight, 78% of Americans want the shale oil, the oil in ANWR, and particularly off the coast in the Gulf, drilled. Yet Congress fiddles.

Maybe if they eliminated the 2 other grades of gas would help a little. Just live with 1 grade of fuel. Well it sounds good anyhow.

Bush made a deal with the Saudis, they announced today that oil will go over $200 per barrel, way to go "W", looking out for America and the citizens you work for, NOT! Well, at least Cheney is getting the $4 per gallon he wanted, next will be $5 by November. What was the price of gas when "W" took office?$1.15 per gallon, oil at $20 per barrel! Bush's "War", sic, the reason for the price of everything rising!

Um... it looks like the Saudi's are working to ensure that Obama gets in office. This is a direct attempt to influence our elections.

Could you please provide us a link that will show us the "deal" Bush made calling for oil to go over $200 a barrel.
I recall you saying the President went to the ME to receive orders from the Israelis. According to MSNBC, Bush asked the Saudis to increase production and they declined.
Could you provide us a link where Cheney made the statement that he wanted $4 a gallon and $5 by November.
I believe the last oil exploration bills were vetoed by Clinton.
I'm sure Bush's War has caused the increase,(even though Iraq is setting output records) and has nothing at all to do with China and India increasing their consumption by over 20% each.
I am also sure that taxing the oil companies, as purposed by the dim side, will encourage them to set production records. Tax increases surely won't be passed to the consumer; will they?

They are not liberals... they are socialists, or maybe more claerly communists. The term liberal is misused.

I cannot believe how people are linning up behind Obama... it's scary.

"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

There is not one good choice this election.
