Hillary is such a snake I would not put it past her to have a contract killing on Obama. She'll do anything to become President, icluding assassination on Obama. It is disgusting that she would also plant the seed in some deranged or hateful mind by bringing up Robert Kennedy's assassination. She should be ashamed of herself and get out of the race immediately.

Mr.Vanderwarf A.P U.S History 27 March 2008 1984 At first I was very skeptical that finding an even slightly interesting historical book was possible. I was even dreading reading one, but as I began reading 1984, written by the literary genius George Orwell, I became more and more involved. He painted an excellent literary picture that captured my attention. He highlighted one of America’s, and all other democratic nations, fear of the spreading of communist governments. The story begins on a bitter April day in Oceania, London. The main character, Winston Smith, is very aware of the totalitarian government around him. They watch every citizens every move, even when they are inside their own homes. They observe by using a device called a Telescreen, which is like a window looking from the people to “Big Brother.” Winston was lucky though, his Telescreen was in the corner of his apartment, so that left a small spot that was completely private and hidden. With this hidden space, Mr. Smith then decided to commit an act punishable by death, to start a diary. At first he had a horrible case of writers block, and couldn’t think of a single thing to write of. All of a sudden the ideas began flooding onto the pages of his diary, from everything from the environment around him to a young woman that worked in his building, which he was strongly attracted to, yet repelled from at the same time. He also remembered and recorded a brief moment with O’Brien, who was a member of the inner party. Winston Smith’s job, which was in the Department of Records in the Ministry of Truth, was to rerecord world history to suit the goals of communist government and to cover up anything negative about them. Winston had a dream, that unfolded much like a prophecy, a voice told him,“we shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.“ He believed that the voice was that of O’Brien’s. He relieves these thoughts and his diary will eventually end in his death at the hands of the Thought Police. The following morning Winston took his place in front of the Telescreen to partake in the Physical Jerks, a daily routine for all outer party members. The Director shouted at him for becoming distracted and began to become suspicious. While at work, the dark-haired girl from the Fiction Department from his diary was constantly staring at him. This made Mr. Smith recall his wife, which he was separated from nearly 10 years ago. His wife, Katherine, was very cold to him and had concrete loyalty to the Communist party. |

. The man showed Mr. Smith an upstairs room, which, shockingly, has no telescreen. As he hurried out of the shop, the dark haired woman, Julia, followed him down the street. Winston was very suspicious that Julia herself was a part of the Thought Police.
In Part two, as Winston was walking down a long corridor in the Ministry of Truth he passed Julia once again. She tripped and dropped all of her papers, and Mr. Smith noticed that her arm was in a sling. As he went to help Julia she quickly slipped him a small piece of paper. He read it later that evening, it read,“I Love You.” Winston saw her later that day and they both arranged a meeting in the crowded Victory Square and talked about where they could meet more privately. Next, Winston and Julia met in the countryside. They talked a bit in the hideout that Julia has frequented with other men. Later that night he discovered that Julia enjoyed physical intimacy, unlike his former wife. They left the hideout and agreed to meet there again; instead, they met in the belfry of a ruined church. They both talked of their hatred for the party and what would become of themselves if they were to be caught. Winston went back to the antique shop and struck a deal with Mr. Charrington, the owner, to rent the upstairs room to help facilitate his affair with Julia. Later that week, Winston and Julia both met in the upper room of the antique shop. By this time they were both beginning to realize that their love could not last much longer, even though they still talked about one day getting married, they, of course, never even believed it themselves. Winston and O’Brien met and had a long conversation about “Big Brother”. Winston took this conversation as a sign that O’Brien was on his side. O’Brien offered to lend Winston a copy of the latest edition of the Newspeak dictionary and gave Winston his address. Winston believed that this was the moment he had been waiting for, but he also realized that by taking this step, he was destined for an early grave. Winston and Julia next met at O’Brien’s house, where they confessed to O’Brien that they were enemies of the Party. O’Brien explained the secret Brotherhood, a loosely formed group committed to eliminate the Party, and initiated Julia and Winston into the group. O’Brien said to Winston,“We shall meet again—” and Winston finished the sentence,“In the place where there is no darkness?” O’Brien answered in the affirmative. Once again, Julia and Mr. Smith met in the antique shop and fell asleep together. Suddenly, they awoke to a voice from behind the picture on the wall, it shrieked,“You are the dead.” Behind the picture was a telescreen. Winston and Julia were swiftly captured, and Mr. Charrington unexpectedly turned out to be a member of the Thought Police. Part three begins when Winston found himself inside the Ministry of Love in a cell without windows and were a telescreen was watching his every move. Winston thinks about Julia none stop while he is imprisoned, and he believed that she was suffering, perhaps more than he was, and he decided that he would take double the pain she received if doing so would spare her. After many quarrels between Winston and the other prisoners in the cell, O’Brien comes to move Winston out of that cell. At first, Mr. Smith thinks O’Brien has also been captured, but he quickly realized that O’Brien had betrayed him. Winston was lying on a camp bed, where he had been for many days, while being tortured almost constantly. O’Brien overseed Winston’s “treatment.” Finally, O’Brien personally took over, and he tortured Winston when he did not give the correct answer to the questions O’Brien asked, many of which had to do with memory and with objective truth. |

Why are people so worried about seals! They eat all the fish and are hurting our fishing industries. Its not like it is a national sport or anything. It is like any other hunting or fishing licenced by the government. Just because people in the news talk about it.Maybe you should do your homework and find out why we do it. |

Hi everyone i just want to say i went to both seneca and george brown for film and computer. For those who are asking what is better. George Brown is better it has an excellent program in film and computer and has an amazing campus. Seneca had a very poor film and computer program and the prof was very little help. The campus was tereble and the college was generally run down. So definetly if you have a choice between seneca and george brown pick george brown.

Winston also learned that he is thought to be mentally insane. O’Brien then convinced Winston that he could “fix” him, and O’Brien began to act like Mr. Smith’s friend again. Winston later learns that Julia had betrayed him, but he is still convinced that he will never betray Julia. He also discovered that the Party had been watching him very closely for seven years and that they even had soundtracks and photographs of him and Julia. He realized the futility of his decision to set himself up against the Party. One late night Winston woke up screaming Julia’s name, and all at once he knew he would have to begin the reintegration all over again. O’Brien hurried Winston Smith to a mysterious room, room 101. Once inside Mr. Smith was chained downed and a cage was placed upon his face. The cage held flesh hungry rats, and the door slowly began to open. Finally Winston cracked and screamed out,“NO, NO, do it to Julia! Do it to Julia! Not me!” The Cage door clicked shut. A long time after he is released, Winston remembered a time in the recent past in which he had seen Julia by accident. She seemed to have changed, thicker somehow. They both confessed to have betrayed each other. Winston did not feel that he was in danger when he spoke with her; quite the contrary. Winston’s life had changed; he no longer worked at his former job, and no one seemed to care much what he did. Winston Smith loves big brother.
In Conclusion, this book illustrated very well what would have happened if Germany had won World War II. I also loved the ending, I found it not only horrifying but also very intriguing for many reasons. This fictional government reigned supreme, not by killing its opponents, quite the contrary, they converted even the most radical rebels to the point in which they loved there government with all of their hearts. This tyrannical government could do anything to keep the loyalty of its people, by means of anything from fighting fake wars and blowing up city blocks, to rewriting history and observing every action and noise made by its citizens. This book showed a very unrealistic change in events of the past, but somehow captured me, and made me believe not only that it was true, but while I was reading it, that I was one of those citizens of Oceania, London. |

A military operation involves deception. Even though you are competent, appear to be incompetent. Though effective, appear to be ineffective.

Change your life for the better.
Say this out loud.(Jesus I receive you as my Lord and savior. I beleive God raised Jesus from the dead, I ask you Father to forgive me, of all of my sins and I turn my life over to you now God.) If you prayed that prayer, You are now set free. Find a church that teaches the word of God and go. I love you. |
