Question for Experienced HRs

Hi all,
Got a complication situation here and wanted to hear from HR opinions about this.

My girlfriend will be having our child in March in Florida. I will be working in Kansas in February. I would like to have baby insurance under the company once she's born, but will I be able to do this since we are not married? The company does offer benefits for domestic partner (in this case, that would be my girlfriend).

My other question is. I would really like to be in Florida and this company has a branch in Florida but my offer indicates that I work at the Kansas location. Do you think I should try to talk the HR into changing my location to Florida since my child will be born there? Or would it be better to not disclose that I have a child being born at all to them? I was also afraid that since I haven't started my job yet, I have no say to where I should work since I interviewed at the Kansas location.
