Please take note. ADP jobs that will be created in the Augusta, GA and El Paso, TX office will be through the direct termination of employees in other offices. It seems that ADP has made the decision to teminate over time the employees in its centers many to relocate the jobs in Augusta, GA or El Paso, TX. Their is no specific time frame reported by ADP management.

I have some friends that have been notified that for now, their jobs are safe but if the quit, their position will be replaced by someone in El Paso or Augusta. At some point in the future, all support centers will close and the remaining emploees will be let go.

This is the same way AT&T moved its operators into Augusta from Atlanta and when its center downsized they retained their jobs while those with less seniority were let go. Most call centers are going to India now for lower labor cost. Same reason they are coming to Augusta ... lower salaries. Something to think about.

I wonder how Georgians are subsidizing the "creation" of these "new" jobs?

Cynically, I expect this is more corporate welfare.

"'These are knowledge-based jobs,'" said Bert Brantley, spokesman for the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

ADP, a publicly traded company, bills itself as business solutions center, assisting clients with services such as human resources, 401(k) retirement plans, tax and compliance plans.

He said the company is eligible for up to $35 million in state and local incentives, including job tax credits and property tax breaks."

I assumed that ADP would eventually pull a move like this.

They have a responsiblity to thier stockholders and they must know that Americans dont want to see jobs go to India. So their only choice seems to be to have the Augusta and El Paso locations in an effort to increase their profits and lower their costs.

Business is business and the people will have to find jobs someplace else if they get let go.

I am an employment Services Coordinator for a IL-Center in Augusta. I build working-relationships/Partners hips with employers in the CSRA to train capable and qualified individuals experiencing disability for positions of employment. I'd like to begin dialogue with someone from the ADP HR department concerning the possibilities of building a "Working-Relationship " between our organizations that is "Non-binding" that will "Introduce you to ways to Save your organization money" and that will "Assist with the forward progress of the Disability movement." all while increasing not reducing productivity. Who can I contact to invite the ADP-Team to join in leading the Augusta disability community to gainful employment? Lets make a difference together.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Pisces

Are you feeling fraught? It certainly seems that way, perhaps because you've got far too much on your plate and not nearly enough time to tackle it all. Do yourself a big favor and start with whatever is most urgent, otherwise you'll waste time by dithering or getting caught up in trivial tasks. Above all, don't get into a panic because that will squander valuable time and energy.
