The American Management Association recently surveyed 701 senior executives, managers and employees on the topic of talking politics at work. They were asked to describe their level of comfort when talking politics with their supervisor.

Check out the results of their survey as well as useful information on how to deal with political discussion in the workplace:

I think the discussion of politics should be avoided
at most workplace environments. Politics within the workplace can lead to misinterpretation, discomfort etc. Obviously some environments are political environments so these would be exceptions.

I believe it is very important to keep the work environment as comfortable as possible. Discussing politics, religion etc. can lead to an uncomfortable
environment.
