From the article: "The housing program Obama will discuss Monday will be implemented by the independent Federal Housing Finance Agency. At its core, the initiative will relax eligibility standards for a federal refinancing program, allowing those who owe more on their house than it is worth to take advantage of loans with lower interest rates."

Big Whoop. How much lower Obama? Will these people be aware that they still owe the principal due on their mortgages, even if it more than the value of their home? Or are you gonna hide that fact so that more suckers will believe they are getting off with some "Obama-money"?

And what happens when they still can't pay?

The market correction must be allowed to run its normal course or else it will just last longer.

Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae again. Refinancing only means more money at lower interest rates for slum lords like Valerie Jarrett to build shoddy housing. Obama is all about his sponsors: Big Corporations who donate to him, private investors who donate to him, unions who donate to him, rich overseas Islamic sponsors who financed his rise in politics, because he certainly didn't do it alone. He's a half wit for hire. EOS.

It's not the morgages that are the problem, it't the lack of jobs to pay for the morgage......3 years of promising jobs..........and only one so far is his caddy.

Obama should work towards teaching these "under water" home "owners" the value of living within your means. Teaching these people the value of reading and understand the loan agreements they sign would also be a big help.

Giving these "homeowners" yet another "CRA" styled loan deal is only going to make things worse for everyone. Rewarding failure only serves to encourage failure.

Meanwhile, the vast majority of these "homeowners" will probably still manage to find a way to increase their debt.

BTW, Obama sure has been "busy" cooking up a bunch of campaign season baloney.

A good start, but I'd also mandate that any housing which remains property of the banks be nationalized and distributed to those who need it. It's time to break the stranglehold on housing by those who caused both boom and bust...

Get your facts straight. This applies only to homeowners who are currently making their mortgage payments.

The question is: Can the congressional Republicans sabotage this attempt by Obama to get the economy moving a little as they have sabotaged all the other things he's tried? So far they've been virtually 100% opposed to job creation. That will no doubt last til the next election. Good luck Obama.

Now Barry wants to circumvent the Constitution, bypassing Congress to impose his new economic plan. He believes that he has the inherent right to this despite the will of the American people. This is absolutely irresponsible an provides further evidence of his inflated ego.

Just as long as he fixes it as well as he fixed the job situations (sarcasm intended).

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Cancer

You have stars in your eyes and you're in a really romantic mood today. Your idea of heaven is to be with that special person in your life, preferably doing something very nice. If you meet someone new or a relationship gets off the ground today, things will always be rather dreamy and otherworldly between you. It will be as though real life, with all its problems, never intrudes on your time together.
