Just to provide some perspective to the 'sky is falling' scree of the "experts", 96% of all home mortgages continue to be paid on time. Certainly the foreclosure rate is too high but we have not reached the end of the world. Plus it is great news that the market is recovering. May it continue to do so.

Finding a foreclosure in Marin and SF is one thing Vallejo is another. Marin and SF are different housing markets and their home values haven't been slammed the way Vallejo has.Vallejo is in much worse shape than it was in when the Military left Mare Island and it took us five years and then some to recover from that. The city is Bankrupt the schools have just been released from state control and most people I know move or send their children to private schools when their kids reach middle school age.So to suggest that Vallejo is recovering based on how the rest of the bay area or the country for that matter is doing is just plain foolish. It's going to be a long time before the Vallejo foreclosures are sold. I spoke to property managers who say that banks are sitting on a number of abandoned homes. There's another crop of foreclosures that haven't yet been listed. So stop with the fluff...You're sounding like George Bush when he declared The Iraq war over several years ago. It's gonna be a while for Vallejo...a long while!
