Full story: Lowell Sun

For years, Lowell residents and visitors have oft griped about the lack of repairs made to downtown Lowell's popular cobblestoned streets, but those complaints seemed to fall on deaf ears.

This is all well and good - however, those original cobblestones were constructed in the way back days when craftsmen took pride in their work, very few men/women can duplicate that work. They may have been immigrants or laborers but their work lasted decades - that is, until the progressives in Lowell (whoever they may be) decided that tarring the roads was better - oh, look at how that lasted - maybe a few years? Then re-paving etc etc. That being said - let's hope that the next generation of movers and shakers does not repeat the past. Thank you all for the donations - Efharisto!

to Bouboulis: What is your problem? How dare you call me a "dumb greek"!! It is unfortunate that you feel it necessary to denigrate my heritage and commentary in a totally non-constructive manner. And, YOU call me dumb?? Go away.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Virgo

Someone is easily angered today, and you'll want to tiptoe around them at every opportunity. They might be on the defensive and imagine that you're getting at them all the time, or they could be quick to point the finger of blame straight at you. It won't be an easy day, but try not to get swept up in the emotional dramas that are swirling around you. They'll only exhaust you.
