Thats funny that you say that....considering that the Baltimore plant has been more efficient than ever and has garnered awards that it has never in the past. The Plant Manager must be doing something right, something that has never happened in the past.

Unilever HPC plant has several major issues between the Union and poor managers running the plant, which will actually make for an easier selling piont, as the incoming company will not have to pick up the Unions contract if they don't want to,which will eliveate a lot of the problems they have with union workers and they can bring in new managers that are not used to the way the plant use to run but will bring in new and innovative ideas. The way plants ran in the 80's and 90's is not the way a plant should be maintained and ran now.

To the one from PA. You have no clue as to what you are talking about. The Union isn't the problem here it is management. The workers care more about this plant than anyone on the other side does.

Unilever is undoubtedly disposing of the laundry unit. It is just a matter of time, and the more time it takes, the worse it looks for the Baltimore plant employees wishing to remain on the job. Apparently no other detergent company is interested in the purchase, or the deal would be done by now. It is now more likely that the brand names will be sold to a party that will in turn pack the detergent at various packers bidding throughout the country. The aged Baltimore plant will meet its demise. Also remember that the Unilever board is very good at keeping secrets. We will probably once again read about this demise on the internet before it is leaked, just like the August 2nd suprise.

Everyone is great at pointing fingers but if our product worked as well as other name brand products, we would all be happy.

Who wants to buy a plant with the economy the way it is now? They will only get a 5-8% profit, not worth their investment.
