While I am positively affected by the depot's willingness to donate money from their foundation to help in disaster relief, the amount of their contribution as related to Frank Blake's salary and the amount they piss away on their race car sponsorship is very underwhelming. What about the Joplin employees and their families?

Not that I am defendning HD (because you know how much disdain I have for this company in its current state), but technically speaking HD has no obligation, legally or morally, to donate ANY money to the city of Joplin itself. Any money they (or any other business donates) donate is strictly charity.

Now on the other hand, when it comes to the employees of this particular store, HD has a legal obligation to pay them their normal rate of pay as well as a moral obligation. HD will probably pay as little as they feel morally obligated. HD brass will not take a pay cut to altruistically help those in need. Forget about it, greed is god in the HD world. A portion of the interest made from the Homer Fund account will cover the payout to their employees affected.

I hear a lot of bad stuff about Home Depot. I used to love the store. Right now I'm trying to find out who and how to get hold of the district manager in Mesa, Az. Everyone is giving me the runaround. I can't get there from here! Is this person supposed to be in the witness protection program or working for the customers? Does this person really exist at all? Or does HD just want us to believe he does.

How do you track this donation? Words mean things and how do folks follow up on the donation?

LOL, use the 1 million to pay that guy's 2.5 million dollar medical bill. If USAma Bin Ladin can be assasinated by the government, why can't the government mercy kilt people who are fiscally beyond saving?
