How can you push customer service when there are fewer orange aprons on the floor and phone answering has gone from live to automation?

I agree with the HD Associate - there are less employees on the floor and it is impossible to chase someone to help you. My relative used to work at the canyon county store and he left because there was not enough employees to meet customers needs.

There's enough help in their stores. Really. It's the choice of products on their floor that is really getting to be an issue. The choice is so limited anymore, and the prices stink. The isles are not wide enough to scoot your big cart (I mean the BIG ones), through the store. It's becoming more a hassle than it's worth. I just shop the local stores anymore, because I have to drive 55 or miles in either direction. They need to build roomier stores. I am tired of bumping into people.

ABOUT TIME!!!!! In our last few visits to Home Depot (I HAVE 3 AROUND TOWN) i found tired and overworked employees, they were not happy and as a consequence not helpfull at all.
Good for the depot to think about us. They are there because of us CUSTOMERS.

I HOPE IT'S NOT TOO LATE!!!!

As a Home Depot ex-employee and as a LEGAL INMIGRANT i can tell you that HOME DEPOT goes to great lengths to hire people and train them, i am positive that they would not hire illegal inmigrants!
Maybe your issue it's with soemthing else! you can talk about products, service and prices but not about HOME DEPOT HIRING ILLEGAL INMIGRANTS.

NOW i have a question for you: ARE YOU NATIVE AMERICAN? Look at your background and then speak....

Our nation's capital has one of the highest crime rates in the nation, if not still the highest. From the statistics I've seen, even the mayor declaring an emergency, I'd be hesitant to park in any store lot.
The Home Depot stores in the Midwest and South are a far cry from what I see described here.
The closest one to me is 40 miles away and I'm heading over there this afternoon because Lowe's doesn't stock what I need.

my isp shows d.c. i live in tn..home depot is not doing well here..compaired to lowes..but i have found ace hardware beats lowes on paint.nails.caulking..and several other items..got to watch lowes..they sell a lot of junk items.not worth taking home..some of there electric items..are pure danger to install in your home...plugs switches.breakers.lights.which melt down short out..should not be legal to sell ..because they catch fire..but they got some good deals..home depot is where all the illegals hang out looking for work...so thats the main reason.people slowed down going to home depot..they messed up geting into the immigration issue..instead of selling building supplys..

Do not purchase a roof from the home depot roofing dept. we attempted to purchase and have installed a new roof. after we signed the contract which we were told needed to be signed in order to lock in a install date, we never heard back from our salesman, almost two months went by. i received a bill for over $12.000 for the roof that we did not even have yet. in the mean time we got mad and did it ourselves. Now home depot says that are going to charge us over $3.000 just because we signed a contract. Yet there so inept there saleman never got back to us with the color we asked for and there billing dept is a screwed up mess. all eugene stores are a mess no help total attiudes. home depot has hit the bottom of the barrel. we spend easily 4-5 thousand dollars a year in home depot and i will do whatever i can to enlighten people of what has happened to us.they must be hurting for money if there starting to obviously rip off there customers.

Home Depot installed our roof, and they did exactly what they said they would-The salesman was very helpful throughout the project, and the project manager was GREAT- the workers did a fatastic job- some would say we paid more for our roof thatn we should have- BUT you know what of 8 roofing companies that came to our home, Home Depot was the only one who explained everything and then followed through with it- we would reccomend them to anyone-YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!

I'm not sure how I got to this page but... Have any of you posted bad reviews for products on the Home Depot web page? I've posted maybe 10 or 12 reviews and there were three negative reviews as well. I just found out today that none of my negative reviews are posted although all of my good reviews are. Obviously I've waisted my time trying to help others because HD won't show the truth.

See, here's where you made your mistake - you used the words "truth" and "home depot" in the same sentence...

my ancestors have been in america for hundreds of years. pocahontas was one of my ancestors. my forefathers faught in the amercian revolution. i am tired of all the illegal immigrants coming over here. we need to stop this immediately. we need to protect our borders just as every other country in the world does. why is the usa so hated by the world when we are the kindest and most generous country in the world. i think we need to stop all the foreign aid of billions and billions of dollars we give and help the poor in our own country. i am sick and tired of all these countries talking bad about the usa. i think the usa should just start taking care of itself and let all the usa hating countries fend for themselves.

Hey wake up America. The Big Box store is expensive and destructive. Not to mention helping to create a socialistic system of retailing. Why are you shopping at the socialistic companies that are springing up all over this democracy, bought and paid for by Americans? City and County governments all over the country are giving millions and millions of your tax dollars and the tax dollars from small business to the "Big Box Stores". It is nothing short of socialism, when a government agency decides that they are going to finance one store over another, how un-American. The benefits of having one of these Big Boxes in your neighborhood,(if you notice), are always stated by the Big Boxer wanting to be subsidized. Not a lot of factual reality is used in the selling of the financial gain to the community. It’s amazing how the businesses that are already in the area are not taken into consideration when the tax revenues are stated. Open a new store in an area where there are already established businesses and the business is going to be moved around not created. If you haven’t noticed take a closer look at their business plan. First they have to open a certain number of stores each month to make the bottom line show growth and look profitable. Second they rely heavily on the subsidies they receive from naive city officials (often the name tax is changed to TIF temporary infrastructure fee, but a rose is a rose).
Often the subsidy paid is money already collected from the established small businesses that have been the back bone of these communities. Doesn’t hardly seem fair does it? This system works well as Wal-Mart, Home depot, Lowes, and others have shown. The result. 1) Huge wages and benefit packages to the top 2 % and low wages to all the rest. 2) Low quality products that in the long run cost the consumer more. On top of the list is the fact that when they go under from overgrowth and no longer being able to run the system they are forced to close stores having already destroyed competitive commerce due to the extra bennies paid them, and the top 2% leave with millions in their pockets. Oh yes lets remember the suppliers that they have hammered over the years having had the Big Boxers demand lower prices and are now not paying the bill. Which also we are left to help pay in higher prices from legitimate retailers. Need an example?
Remember Builders Square? Home Base?
In closing they (the Big Box stores) should be required to give the credit where it is deserved when it come to the donations they give to organizations. It is you and I that have financed these donations to the tune of the extra taxes paid and the fact that it is a deduction that they reduces the amount of revenue that they pay taxes on. Just a simple thanks for the hand out would due.

I agree, Home Depot products are fine, but why pay more to have them installed? As a local contractor in a modest town in Ohio, We do still care about quality of service, promptness and professionalism... and all at a fair price, LET's GET BACK TO BASICS!!! Hire a liscensed, insured and competent LOCAL Contractor...

Don't buy a roof from home depot! You can get all the same products from local supply stores, and have a good local roofer install them for less than half the price! Do you research on a roofer, ask friends and neighbors for referrals and you won't get burned! Just don't go to Home Depot, they will rip you off!
