Bed Bath debacle?

I heard this afternoon from reader Debbie, who said that a Bed Bath & Beyond cashier told her today that the company is no longer accepting expired coupons. via Blogs.newsobserver.com

Bed Bath and Beyond takes their coupons and LNT Coupons as well as expired coupons from either company. They will take one coupon per item, no limit and they will adjust receipts if you forget to bring in your coupon when you make the purchase.

We take all coupons, expired or not. With LnT 20% off entire purchase expired coupons we can apply it as a single coupon and we're more than happy to adjust your receipt later if you don't have enough coupons at the POS. But then again the LnTs in my area seldom take their coupons or our coupons expired. Maybe it's a regional thing. But did you ask to speak to a manager?

Because of LNT's customer service is the reason LNT was bought and soon bankrupt!

my local bb takes all coupons i have ever presented and do so happily. i no longer shop at lnt because my local one is horrible-no service, messy, dirty aprons, no nametags so you couldn't tell who worked there and a manager walking around in a "belly shirt" with no name tag.( i only found out it was the mgr because an employee paged her for help.)i agree that my bb did not take an expired total purchase coupon but that's fine. as far as i am concerned, they don't even need to take lnt coupons or anyone else's coupons. they choose to and that is great but honestly, the service is so great and the selection and prices are so great that i would shop there without a coupon.
i agree with the person that commented about regional or local rules. that person is probably correct-considereing they are all over the country, they probably have different coupon exceptions in different areas. that is ok with me, i am happy to have a coupon when i do and ok when i don't. i am a very satisfied customer!

It really depends what store you are in. LNT takes
all coupons even expired. If its a total purchase coupon - then its still good for 1 item. Seriously folks....does the supermarket adjust receipts if you leave coupons at home???. Do they GIVE you coupons if you leave them home??? I think NOT.....Consider yourselves lucky!!!!!

I have worked with LNT for 6 1/2 years and I would like to apologize for anyone who has had a bad experience at LNT!!:-) I really think it all depends on which store you go in and who you deal with. Some people just have bad days, which is no excuse, I know, but try and think of us too next time you walk into one of our stores. We might have just dealt with a HORRIFIC customer! I know I've had those days.. but I on the other hand have never had a complaint ;-) I am a manager and I hate it when my associates are rude to guests so I try to make it right as soon as possible and talk to the guest and the associate but I know that not all management is like that so again, I apologize! Come to my store and I'll take all the coupons you have!:-)

Jen from PA you are so right about the coupons! Finally someone with a brain! I think people are just evil about coupons because they are so angry about how much money their SUV is sucking up in the tank that they have to penny pinch (and be mean about it at the same time). I believe that only the people who can use coupons are the ones who didn't spend more than $17,000 on a car.
I do love the LNT coupons, but I think that BBB and LNT should stick to the expiration dates and the 1 coupon rule and all of the other fine print stuff. Then there might be some flyers left in the entrance instead of 1 person taking them all just for the stupid coupons. Leave some for other people!!!!

I have worked for LNT for 8 years and we will pretty much take any coupon anytime....it does not matter. Thanks for all the positive comments about linens n things...we try hard to make every guest happy. I agree with some of the comments about grocery stores and other retailers..they will not take your coupons expired and will not take more than one per purchase...so consider yourselves lucky...I hear everyday from customers that we are so much better than BBB so I don't know how we could have the worst service in the industry.

At LNT we take all coupons and I work right around the corner from this BBB. I have never seen a coupon turned down ever.

I have worked at LNT for 6 years and I enjoy talking to clients and helping them choose bedding, bath or electric items. I have never seen coupons turned down at our store, we try to make every guest feel welcome and do our best to keep our store clean, bring and friendly looking.
We treat our customers like they are family.

And I am sure you're a BB&B employee, correct? In my store, we will accept any coupon you bring to us...and with a smile! How do we have bad customer service is beyond me. If we are out of stock on a item, we'll get it for you whether we ship it FREE to your house or from another store to our store. Last time I needed something at BB&B I was told to drive 20 minutes to the next closest store, so how is that in comparison? It does matter on locations for LNT and for BB&B I am sure, and also on how that particular store is being ran by the GM. So don't go saying LNT has the Worst customer service anyone has ever seen...maybe you should try going into one of our stores and see what happens. Also...in what "QUOTE" are we known as the worst customer service store?? In my area, we have Target, Kohl's, Macy's and BB&B recommending our stores to guests if they know we carry a certain product and they don't...show me proof!!

In the Kansas City Area LNT has poor service, and sloppy stores. Everyone I know would rather shop at BBB. Nationwide I think LNT's culture is suspect as well, as shown by the Dyson law suit. Since Dyson will no longer ship them merchandise they claim "manufacturers problems" even though they simply owe Dyson too much money to get any more product. I'll go to a store that doesn't need to lie to me and get me in the middle of there cooperate politics.

Typical response from a BBBY employee. I work at LNT and we accept all coupons no questions asked, expired or not. As well as multiple coupons for multiple items. Let's keep it real...

Really? You must shop at our store pretty regularly to know that! And if Bankruptcy is filed it will only be to restructure, get rid of underperforming stores and renegotiate lease agreements after which we will be stronger and better able to kick your ***!

I have worked for LNT'S for two year's and i must say we have a great staff, our store is very clean and all the employee's work hard our customer's are very satisfied. We need to change our return policy and maybe things would be better for this company... All of us employee's should stick together and not bad mouth our store's. Other wise you could go and work at BBB....
