3 developers vie for Osceola convention-hotel space

When it comes to convention and hotel space, three projects are better than one.

What is the benefit of having these large convention centers?

If the government gives them money,$100-200 million dollars, what will the benefit be for local tourism or the local community?

Gaylord Palms is a very successful convention center that got tax breaks and other incentives to build, but having that convention hotel has not spurred the development of new hotels or tourist venues. Having that convention hotel has not sent overflow business into the 192 tourism corridor.

I know the County has been talking for years about building a convention center. They probably have the capacity to actually get a deal done now.... but they really need to think and make sure they are making the right decision. They need to ask themselves if that money can be used in a better way to enhance tourism in Osceola County, to benefit all.

They should not proceed with a convention center just for the sake of it, or because some savvy developer says we need it.

As of right now, seeing who is involved, you only have to bring out the old copies of the Sentinel and read the same crap. Certain commissioners were falling over each other as this was the best deal of the century. So was the rail system!
Let the PRIVATE companies take their own risks with their own monies!
County commissioners have a lot more serious problems to deal with, such as a county manager who has no idea what he's doing so his underlings are running the show. Guess what?
The show is almost over and everybody is getting ready to go home!
