I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

This is what will happen because of this medication:

People will take it when they wake up at 3am and can't get back to sleep. It will work really well. So the next night, they wake up again at 3am, can't sleep, so they take it again. Night 3: repeat. Night 4. Night 5. Night 6. Night 7. This is a wonderful drug!

The second week, they go to bed as usual and find they can't get to sleep at all. Now what? Hey, this intermezzo stuff works great at 3am, let's try it now. They take it. They sleep. They wake at 3am as usual, and take it again.

The next night, can't get to sleep. Let's take some more intermezzo. Repeat.

After only a week or two, they will find themselves hopelessly addicted to this drug because they will not be able to sleep without it. If they don't take it, they don't sleep at all.

Even worse - how many people are going to take this at 4am? 5am? 6am? How many people are going to ignore the warning to not take it if there are not at least 4 hours left to the night? How many people are going to take it when they have to get up in two hours, and then fall asleep driving down the road and kill themselves and/or others?

The pharmaceuticals have successfully found yet another way to get people addicted to ambien so that they can make even more money off of our suffering.

Remember who told you first - nothing good will come of this drug, it will only cause more suffering.

I completely disagree with your assessment of this sleep aid. I have been using this med for two months now and have found it to be extremely beneficial. I only use it when I wake before 3:00 am and I don't obsess about looking at the clock. I have struggled with middle of the night wake up times for ten years. I have tired every trick in the book and tried several other meds and natural supplements that either did not work or were way too strong and had the hang over effect the next day. Even 5 mg of ambian would make me feel sedated the next day.

This med when taken responsibly is a very low dose that helps a person get a full seven hours of sleep. Sleep deprivation is very dangerous to ones health and mood. After taking Intermezzo I am able to wake up very clear minded with much more energy then if I didn't take it.

By the way I only take this two or three times a week thus far. It's great because if I manage to sleep past 4:00 am than I am satisfied and will manage just fine without the Intermezzo assistance for that night.

Better read up on Ambien, this is just renamed medicine..it's garbage. Try trazadone...a lot easier on your body.

I i have used zolpiem, the generic of both the above drugs, with great success for 10 years now and my sleep issues are ancient history. HERE'S THE THING this is just another big pharma trick. INTERMEZZO IS A HALP OF A DOSE OF ZOLPIDEM/AMBIEN just called another name. Here's what you should do . Get an Rx for Zolpiedem , break it in half and take it in the middle of the night. With medicare I copay $8. for a 90 day presription. The manufacturers of Intermezzo and Ambien arent' about to tell you THAT...THEREFORE I WILL!!! GOOD LUCK, SLEEP WELL.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Cancer

You have stars in your eyes and you're in a really romantic mood today. Your idea of heaven is to be with that special person in your life, preferably doing something very nice. If you meet someone new or a relationship gets off the ground today, things will always be rather dreamy and otherworldly between you. It will be as though real life, with all its problems, never intrudes on your time together.
