My hip is stainless steel and Squeakless" after 10 years, but they did botch the first surgery and I had to be re-operated 2 days later--not a fun deal at all--fp

Had both mine replaced twice - age 26 and 40 ( almost 4 years ago) bothare doing well - knock on wood. Metal and plastic have done well for me and the plastics these day's last 20 years. I am very active.

I can definitely see how squeaky hips can be a real issue for people. I have problems with my hips and dread the thought of replacement one day. I am biding time and hoping probably like a fool that it will just get better instead of worse.

It be nice if Stryker came forward and accepted responsibility for their mistakes. If they are honest and come forward saying they screwed up and then take care of those of us who have this problem, by providing free replacements and surgery and compensation for our recovery time. If they take an honest approach like this then perhaps they would minimize the damage here. I'd like to think that Stryker cares for its patients, but thus far that care has been lacking. The certainly "care" for their consultants to the tune tens of Millions of dollars a year.

This says the problem seems to be Stryker specific.

I highly advise you to see your doctor about case and learn more about Minimally invasive surgery which is a surgery minimizing surgical incisions to reduce trauma to the body. See also http://www.depuypinnaclelawsuit.com/ for additional information.

It's good to see your doctor about it. There were a lot of cases here that you can find out. http://www.rotlaw.com/depuy-asr/

Many patients who were injured because of defective hip implants have already started to look for information on reconstructive surgery and for monetary compensations they may get. However, even those who have not experienced any complications but received the recalled hip replacement devices need to revisit their surgeons for further instructions.
