Thank for this information. To summarize, last August 2010, Johnson&Johnson has finally announced DePuy Hip Replacement Recall. DePuy's ASR XL Acetabular System and the ASR Hip Resurfacing System were recalled after data revealed that the devices fail prematurely in one out of eight people who have them. Furthermore, the victims of these devices should know their legal rights. Even though DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. has stated that the company will pay for "reasonable and customary" costs of treatments and revision surgery; one may be entitled to receive damages for lost wages, medical costs, pain and suffering resulting from the damage the device caused. A number of DePuy lawsuit have now been pursued by victimized patients. See http://www.depuysettlements.com for more information.

There have been many reports concerning about the complications from these metal-on-metal hip implants. Many of its recipient are suffering from inflammation, pain, and metallosis to name a few leading to filing of lawsuits against the manufacturers of the hip implants. This is nothing new. Hundreds of lawsuits were already being filed against J&J because of their defective hip systems. I just hope that J&J could find a way modify their products into a more effective one. By the way, I have found more of this here: http://www.rotlaw.com/depuy-asr/ . Just in case you want to read more that are relevant to this topic.

This is one of the stories that surround metal hip implants. Although many people are thankful of having new hips, they are greatly disappointed when the hips start to fail early. http://www.depuypinnaclelawsuit.com/types-of-...

The man who filed the lawsuit against J&J won $8M compensation from the case. Let's hope that others who filed their suits get compensated from the injuries they endured. I read here http://businesslawdaily.net/health-news/rotte... that the government is also looking into how the company's marketing their hip devices.
