Unfortunately, the government was just being alarmed when they notice the growth in number of complainants. It would be better that before the product was distributed in the market, it was put into heavy screening to avoid such number of complains and save the company from paying a lot with settlements. Getting a hip replacement is not the problem. In fact, it is the solution to the problem of a malfunctioning hip joint. The problem here though is USING A FAULTY PROSTHETIC which could cause further damage. Do your part by researching on the brand and model of implant device that will be implanted in your joint. You do not want to regret it just like the victims of this case: http://www.strykerhiprecall.us/

Studies show that metal-on-metal hip replacements have a higher failure rate due to its side effects, metal falling debris (metallosis), squeaking and popping of the hip area which cause to lessen the patient mobility, bone fractures, corrosion, severe pain that could affect their lifestyle. A number of plaintiffs against the manufacturer has been grown. See info here http://www.rotlaw.com/hip-replacement-lawsuit...
