Anyone got irritated by the phrase "getting better everyday"? If Winne-Dixie can save the money on the commercial and getting to real business, low price, fresh food, people will buy; its tactics are not smart, the formula of their suvival is simple, in my humble opinion. Even a small store will survive if it gets real. The management sucks, it's a chain reaction when the tops don't want to change, no satisfied employees, no decent price and quality, no customers, no future... Does it take a genius to figure out? Think not.

What WD needs, in a nutshell, is COMMON SENSE. Or, is it so corrupted, so little, so late now for any real changes to happen. The culprit that demised the chain-store somehow is still there, we, as general public, can tell, can't we?

I worked for Winn-Dixie in Mississippi.I have never seen a store that has so much product in one store and u go 5 miles down the road and cann't even have freshbaked bread or deli meat after 5...They alway's have a reason why they do not have it. Hwy 49 store is the only one that u are able to get hot bread and deli meat. I guess this is because the area supervisor is there all the time. I believe they need to send him in to the other store's after 6 until close to see what is goin on in them. They would make a lot more money if all the store's offered the same thing at the same time. What all the bakery's and deli's close at 5 and we have to drive all the way to Hwy 49. That is wrong

winn-dixie started to fall when they forgot about customer service.as the davis brothers died, they allowed upper management to rape the chain store of the profits.money that many hard working employees worked for.joseph t white and roy brocatto were two of the worst blood suckers that i have ever seen.

I am considering buying a shopping center anchored by a Winn Dixie Marketplace. The Winn Dixie store in this center has very good sales performance. The risk of Winn Dixie Stores, Inc. going bankrupt again is difficult to analyze because there are no meaningful operating numbers reflecting operations since W-D emerged from bankruptcy.

Does anyone have advice for me?

Thank you!

Yea, put your money somewhere else. I got out with my retirement just in time and make more in an IRA.

Why do people who exclusiely shop at Publix think that they are so much better than everyone else? There is no perfect grocery chain. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. My family stopped shopping(regularly)at Publix long ago because it was too expensive. We save money at WD and the store is immaculate. The manager there runs a tight ship because it is always well stocked, most of the employees are friendly and the store looks and smells clean. If every WD was like this one,WD wouldn't have such a bad reputation.Who knows,Publix might have the same kind of problems someday, especially with how full of themselves they are.Target is mighty impressive and way better than Wal-Mart ever will be.

let us talk about pay raise at Winn Dick me over!!

The new pay scale has hardworking employees at

the same pay rate for YEARS- GETTING BETTER ALL
THE TIME - I AM GETTING BITTER ALL THE TIME !!

I have not seen a pay raise in two years and they screwed other employees also - simply telling them that they are TOPPED OUT - DO NOT SHOP AT WINN DICK me over protest them- shop at clean stores with better management and happier employees

Winn dixie is a joke. For a while they looked as if they were going to turn it around but they have fallen back to doing the same shotty things that got them there. To many chiefs and poor excuses for indians. Winn dixie is a turd that has been polished over and over hopefully people will realize this and get out.

well, i must say that some of these statements are true, however most wd stores are in good operating conditions as well as the one i work in, there is cashier training and we go to great measures to make sure the customers are happy when they leave the door, get a life people

The Winn-dixie store that is near me has improved on cleanliness but perhaps that is because there is lack of customers. I went in on a thursday morning at 11am and when I went to check out the only option was self checkout, there was no cashiers up front. usually there is only 1 open line with a live cashier. I have bought a lot of spoiled meat at winn-dixie. I was checking out the bogo on meat but the meat did not even feel cold. hence the spoiled meat problem. if you go in after 9pm (open until 11p) the deli is closed and they have taken most of the cooled produce and put it in the back coolers. and i am not sure why everyone says publix prices are higher. i did a comparison on wd prices compared with the same item in publix. non sale items for instance 2.29 in publix 2.79 in wd. 3.09 publx 3.69 wd. everything i looked at was 10-23% higher than publix.

I have 350 shares of Winn Dixie and lost everything. The shares ended up worthless and now they're back at 19$ but my money's still gone.

To heck with WD.

I held 5000 shares of Winn Dixie prior to their bankruptcy and held onto them through the bankruptcy, just to see my portfolio be reduced to 0 stock in the company. How can they reorganize and use the same name without owing me something? The other creditors can write all the debt off and get a tax break, I cant. I'm just screwed. WTF I'll never go there again.

winn dixie has always been my choice for groceries. they are very affordable compared to publix. i do admit that some of their stores are not the cleanest but things are changing. i truly hope that winn dixie can change their image because they are still "the low price leader".
