Everybody wants things to remain local. Yet the local companies can't make enough to stay in business. Not enough people shop local businesses. That's why you should shop downtown and not shop at places like Gap or American Apparel. Go to New Leaf and Staff of Life rather than Safeway.

Oh Yeah, nobody shops at New Leaf. That's why it's always so hoppin' when we shop there! I didn't know they had plans to sell out. That's very sad to me.

Productivity has nothing to do with the amount of people walking around and shopping. There are alot of costs behind their locations. And they don;t have as much bulk buying power for cheaper prices with the chain stores.
